A hand struck Croy. He staggered back, shocked as he looked at Lee. He held his jaw, humbled and in an instant his head was lowered. Lee stood to his full height, gazing down on Croy with mercy. Croy didn't dare return the gaze. Lee relaxed.
"I'm sorry, Croy," Lee said, shaking his head. "Please do not push me any further. The costs will be greater next time."
Croy nodded, biting his lip with his fangs before silently leaving. But inside, he was not satisfied. His master loved a mere human. And that stupid Blake couldn't see that. It made him furious. His master shouldn't be so alone. Cut off. He could tell Lee was in pain, and he'd force Blake to stay with Lee if it meant Lee's happiness. He headed to the center building. Kaien's living space right in the middle of it all. He'd wait for Blake to get home from studies. He clenched his fists. If she wasn't of importance to Lee, he'd have already finished her off.
Blake was sitting in class, her hand on her neck. It hadn't felt the same since...since her little crash. She wasn't ready for whatever was about to happen. She could feel something was coming. Something..well, she didn't know if it was a good or bad thing...all she knew was that she wasn't ready. Not yet. Why was everything so complicated? Even though Lee could've killed her, he hadn't. He was so cruel, but deep down Blake knew it was because he was longing for something. Every smirk. Every harsh laugh. It all came down to his pain. What was making him feel this way? And what was stranger was...she missed him. Part of her screamed at her to find him, the other wanted to run. What was she to do?
The only thing that was for sure was that she hadn't slept for a whole week now. She was starting to shut down, but she'd push her limit. Anything to not have those awful nightmares again. She didn't want to see anymore of that. No more roses. No more murders. No more fangs. No more love. And certainly none of that girl that looked strangely like her. The bell rang, and she was headed home, trying to push the sad thoughts out of her head.
Blake trudged up the stairs to her bedroom, yawning. Maybe just a few hours of sleep... she thought as she opened the door. She tossed her books on her dresser, slipping her shoes off. Blake yawned, stretching with her arms straight above her. When she opened her eyes...she saw nothing. Strange. It was like someone was watching her. She gulped, her throat dry. No. It wasn't like someone was watching her. She could sense someone in this room. Right...over ...there. In the far corner, next to the window.
Swallowing her fear, Blake ran to the corner of the room, swinging her fist blindly.
Croy stiffens, turning visible to the human eye."H-How did you know I was here?...My powers are able to make me invisible...that's...that's impossible!" He looked at her, anger replacing his surprise.
"Our president of the night-class.." He was momentarily distracted by the smell...of Blake. Her blood coursed smoothly through her veins. Sweet. Thick. Blood. Croy breathed in, grabbing her shoulders. "You smell so good..." He leaned in, breathing again. The pills were now not enough for him.
Blake's eyes widened, shaking. W-What's happening?..I...I Blake tries to breath, but fails. She was terrified. She wanted to say something, but instead she found herself staring at his sharp, canine teeth that threatened to shred her. As his teeth neared her neck, something inside her lurches. She yells, a sharp pain running up her back and into her heart.
"Stop!"
Croy immediately does as told, his eyes wide like he hadn't meant to obey. That voice... Croy thought. I know...that voice... He searches through his mind, then freezes. Could that be?...No. It couldn't be... Chalice? He was chilled to the touch.
Blake shut her eyes tightly, the pain fading, but still there. In her blood...she could feel it. What was happening to her? She opened her eyes, about to ask Croy why he was here, but no one was there. He'd left?
Croy ran, bursting out the Kaien house. Blake...Blake's a Pureblood?!
