Blake finished reading, forcing herself to remain as calm as possible. Vampires? She had heard of the term, but never in a million years would she think they were real! Blake shook her head, her heart racing. She looked down at the note. At the very bottom of the page, her father's handwriting was scrolled messily onto the lines:
Isn't that exciting! I couldn't have put it in any better words myself!! Well, dear daughter. What do you think? Now you know all about what Guardians really do! Hope you decide to become one.
- Your loving father, Kaien Cross!
Blake rolled her eyes, the fear slowly being replaced by anger. Kaien was in on this?! He knew all along, and he told her almost nothing about this crap! He'd only mentioned being a Guardian a few times, not to mention the whole vampire thing. She had so many questions, and, heck, she didn't even know who the writer of this crap was! One thing was for sure, she was going to find ALL the answers to her questions. And she was going to do it by confronting one of the questions face to face.
She ran for the night class' dorm rooms, determined to find out just what the heck was going on around here.
Blake's fierce courage had run out by the time she reached the dormroom's doors. What would they do to her if they caught her sneaking around? Blake sucked in a breath. No. All she had to do was find that guy who was glaring at her in the hall earlier. Then, she'd force the answers right out of him. And, yes, she was still mad about the whole 'I'm going to glare at you like you did something wrong' thing.
Wrapping a hand around the doorknob, she slowly, quietly opened the door, peeking inside. It looked like the day class' dorms, plain and simple, but also surprisingly warm, with a hint of class to it. Blake crept in, looking around. She glanced at her watch. It was eight-o-clock. Man, how long did it take to run outside, read a note, run to the other side of the school again, and break in? Wait. What had that note said? Something about being active at night? She gulped. Maybe they'd be outside if she was lucky. Blake continued on, looking at different doors in awe.
It was dead silent, and when she approached the end of the hall, she stared at an oak wood door. Dead end. This door was probably going to lead to something huge. Blake heaved in a breath, and opened the door.
It was a normal, average room! Messy...but still. It was just like any other room in this place. Guess she'd been wrong. Nothing special here. Nothing at all. Blake squinted in the dark room, looking for anything "special". She walked to the bed, sitting down in defeat. How was she supposed to get answers when no one was here?! Ugh!
Just then, a sleek figure entered the room. Blake's eyes widened. In a flash, something ( or someone ) was at her side. They grabbed her wrists, lifting them up in the air, using their other hand to place at her side. Chills went up Blake's spine as she turned her head and saw the man she'd seen this morning. His eyes were red now! She stared into his eyes, loosing train of thought.
"...Wha...Hey!" Blake snapped out of it, drifting back to the real world. "Just what do you think you're doing?!" She wriggled free, turning to face him fully. "You! Just WHY were you at the day class building today?! And why were you so rude?! And vampires...?"
The man ran a hand through his hair, huffing. "Well, one's thing's for sure, you're petty like always." This guy was speaking as if she knew her?! Oh, heck no.
"Shut up! Petty? Please!" Blake blurted out.
Apparently, she'd struck a nerve. He stood, looming over her. "Listen, mortal. You have no place speaking to me like that." He grabbed her wrist again. "I was doing none of your business." He laughed cruelly.
Blake whimpered, "Don't hurt me.."
"HA! Blake, you ARE hilarious. Just hilarious," he spat, leaning closer.
She squirmed in his arms. Apparently, her wish of fighting had came true, but she'd expected she'd win..
