Crap, crap, crap! My mind filled with different scenes playing out on how this would end, and none of them ended in a happy ending. Aren walked slowly towards us, his fists clenched and his eyes blazing. We all stood frozen, not even daring to bat an eyelash in front of him. I knew everyone was scared, but I think I was the only one shaking in utter terror of what was going to happen.

He looked straight into the eye of the guy who was holding me back, glaring at him threateningly. I felt the guy tense behind me; if he knew what was good for him, he would let go immediately.

"Jamar, if you know what's best for you, you'd let go of my daughter right now." He said, his voice low and menacing.

Haha, would ya look at that.

Chapter 10

His tone changed the atmosphere so drastically; it felt as if the room dropped forty degrees colder than what it was before. I felt a chill through my spine; my mind clouded with terror and unimaginable dread.

I felt the dude behind me jump and quickly let go and back away, which wasn't too far since we were already near the wall. "Yes sir, I'm sorry."

And before anything else happened, Raziya walked into the room but stopped once she saw Aren.

"Aren, why are you here? What happened?" She asked, completely clueless of the situation.

Aren put all his attention, and anger, towards her. "Raziya, what is Zeera doing down here, unsupervised with all these damn boys surrounding her? I'm one second away from snapping his arms in two for fucking touching her, and Daren isn't even supposed to be in the same room with her. Somebody better tell me what the fuck is going on now before I start taking a different approach to this problem."

Everyone with a brain could tell he was struggling to hold back from lashing out completely. By now, his hands were shaking, and he was breathing hard and fast.

Raziya confused and worried as she surveyed the scene, then sighed. "First off, calm down, Aren. You know none of them would do anything inappropriate to an apprentice, or to any girl for that matter. We've raised them better than that. Second, Zeera came in here of her own free will wanting to see Daren; she had a pass."

Aren's head snapped towards me; my heart jumped at the quick action. "So, you went behind my back and went to see the boy I specifically told to stay away from you? The one who hurt you? Are you trying to get your ass handed to you?!" He started to yell now; I felt myself shaking harder.

"All of you, scram! I don't want to see none of y'all faces near her until she graduates!" he yelled. Everybody scattered out of the room, and I was left here slowly backing up into the wall, whimpering and shaking with thick tears flowing like rain out of my eyes.

Since I was no longer clouded, I have a better overall understanding of my emotions. And at this very moment, I was more scared than what I have ever been with my bullies back at my home village; pretty much ever in my entire life. Once I hit the wall, I felt completely trapped and alone. I just wanted to apologize, why did everything have to go so wrong?

Raziya spoke up, and I prayed to the gods that she could somehow convince Aren to go easy on my punishment, but after everything that's happened, I doubt even Mom can. Will he punch me this time? Or multiple times? Or something worse?

"Aren, what is wrong with you? I haven't seen you this angry in ages. She just wanted to apologize-"

"No, fuck that. She went behind my back and did something she knew I wouldn't like."
