Dan had gotten changed into some clothes and let Phil go to his room to get clothes for himself. When Phil was in something other than his boxers they went to the floor where the hotel was serving breakfast. They picked out a booth and sat down opposite of each other.
"Okay, so here's the deal." Phil starts, he had gotten a small mug of coffee and was dumping various packs of sugar into it, he obviously didn't trust free Vegas coffee by itself, or maybe he didn't trust coffee period. "I don't know you, and you don't know me, but here we are, married. We even have these plastic rings." Phil shows his hand to Dan so he can see it. Dan already knew it was there, he had a matching one on his hand which he was currently twisting around his finger in annoyance. "You have a boyfriend, I have just gotten over a breakup." Phil explains, taking the small cup of cream on the table and dumping a good amount into his coffee.
"Mhm." Dan hums, taking a sip of his plain coffee and almost spitting it out due to the fowl taste.
"Here." Phil pushes the cup of cream towards Dan.
"Thanks." Dan pours what's left of it into his cup.
"Back to what I was starting to say is, we can't get a divorce." Phil says. Dan almost spits out his coffee, but not because it has too much cream or because it tastes disgusting.
"What?"
"Ever since I was young, my parents drilled it into my brain to only get married to someone I love so I won't get divorced, and if I want to get divorced then talk to my spouse so we can find the root of the problem. Or, if I thought the marriage was beyond repair or the relationship itself wasn't healthy I'd need to talk to my parents to get their approval." Phil explains, running his thumb around the rim of his cup.
"Oh." Dan mumbles, letting his head hang so he can look at his steaming drink.
"What I'm saying is I want you to meet my parents so we can explain to them what happened and they can give us permission to get divorced. Until then, I won't allow us to get divorced." Phil continues, taking a sip of his coffee after he's done talking.
Dan shakes his head. "That's- that's okay with me, it's very honorable of you do to that. I just don't know how I will explain this to my boyfriend." Dan sighs, taking another sip of his coffee. It tasted like cream with a single drop of coffee in it now, which was surprisingly better than it was before.
Phil opens his mouth to talk some more about their 'situation' but an employee cuts him off. "Excuse me, are you two Mr and Mr Howell-Lester?" The woman asks. Both of them cast a glance at each other before nodding. At least they know the others last name now. "Great! I have your wedding tape from last night, you two were already off and gone before it was developed so I'm so glad I was able to finally find you." She slides a disk in a plastic container to them. "Congratulations, I wish you two the best on your new marriage." She smiles at them before turning away.
Dan and Phil look at the disc then they look at each other. "I'll go get my laptop so we can play the disk, can you make me a drinkable cup of coffee for me?" Dan asks as he pushes his cup forward and scrunches his nose.
"Yeah sure." Phil cautiously grabs Dan's cup from him as if it was hazardous, which honestly, it wouldn't surprise Dan if it was.
Dan runs up to his room and grabs his laptop and takes the lift back downstairs to Phil. He sits on the same side as Phil is and puts the laptop out in front of them while panting widely. He turns it on and puts the disk in. As it starts to play Dan takes a sip of the coffee Phil made him which is surprisingly, and thankfully, decent.
They watched the film in horror. While the video was being tapped they were both drunk out of their minds and slurring all the 'i do's'. The sloppy kiss was probably the worst part about it to be honest. Dan couldn't believe he'd kiss someone like that, he's never missed some one like that.
