~Chapter 2~
"This way!" Gandalf yells and we all run across the moors, desperate for a hiding place.
I can hear the Orcs all around us, following us, hunting us. I am running behind Gandalf with Thorin behind me. My step are light as I bound across the uneven ground.
We reach a part of the moors in which we are cut off. There are a few rocks and trees in the small area, but nothing to provide sufficient cover.
"Form a circle!" Thorin bellows. His deep voice bouncing off the rocks.
Carefully I move back closer to a group of boulders. The Dwarves form a half circle with their backs to the Boulder I am standing in front of. That's when I notice that Gandalf is gone. My senses ignite and I can feel the chill of air blowing against the back of my neck. I fire an arrow into an Orc's throat that was about to attack the white haired Dwarf and hit a Warg in between the eyes.
"This way you fools!" Whipping around, I find Gandalf popping up from behind a one of the boulders.
That's it. That's the hidden passage to Rivendell. I glance back at the Orcs and Wargs closing in on us before diving into the hole. The rest of the Dwarves follow me. I roll out of the way just as one of them tumbling inside.
"Kili! Get in here!" Thorin yells poking his head back out.
Kili slides into the hidden passage and Thorin steps back from the entrance. We wait for the Orcs to be upon us, trapping us in the small cave. Then a horn sound, an Elf horn to be exact. A dead Orc falls into the cave and Thorin yanks out an Elven made arrow.
"Elves." He growls, his nose crinkling in disgust.
I growl lowly pulling back my bowstring slightly. My arrow is still perfectly fit, ready to fire.
"Relax, he meant no harm." The old white haired dwarf says.
"Balin's right," Kili tells me as he moved past to stand by his brother.
"This way," Gandalf tells us, waving the Dwarves past him.
We follow the hidden passage, I don't think the Dwarves know where it leads yet. If they don't, I doubt they would follow it.
We come up to the front gates of the castle and I smile when I see Lindir, he has become a close friend of mine throughout the years. I do admit, I am quite excited to see my father again. I haven't seen him in a while since I've been visiting cities in the west.
"He's not here." Lindir states when Gandalf asks for my father.
"Where is he then?" Gandalf asks. A horn sounds just as he finishes the sentence. The same horn that we heard in the hidden passage.
I smile and turn to see a quite large group of elves coming in on horses. I stand beside Lindir with a wide smile. The dwarves form a tight circle around the halfling. The elves encircle the small company, the Dwarves ready their weapons.
"Celaireth!" My father jumps off his horse and strides towards me.
"It's good to see you, Ada." My smile grows bigger as I hug my father.
"I was starting to worry about you." He says, pushing my shoulders back slightly to look at my face.
"I'm sorry to worry you, Ada. I got a bit held up." I glance at the Dwarves and Thorin narrows his eyes at me.
"But you made it back safely." My father smiles and pats my shoulder, looking back at the group of Dwarves.
"Would you like some food?" Elrond asks in Elvish.
