~Chapter 3~
"You not coming with us if that's what you mean." Kili says, following me.
"I'm not asking your permission, I'm telling you. I am going with you." I say firmly. "And there is nothing you can do to stop me."
"But the deal was that you stopped at Mirkwood." Kili says.
"What's going on?" Thorium falls back to walk with Kili and myself.
"I'm not stopping at Mirkwood, I'm going all the way to the Lonely Mountain with you." I tell him.
Thorium narrows his eye and shakes his head. "No it's too dangerous."
"So is being within twenty feet of you." I respond.
"Celaireth, I'm serious, it's very risky." Thorin says, glancing at Kili.
"And I'm serious as well, you can't stop me from going." I state firmly.
"Alright but if your father asks why you are ashes, I'm telling him that I couldn't stop you." Thorin murmurs pushing passed me.

We walk for a while before we reach the Misty Mountains. Rain has begun to pour down, our little group walking along a narrow ledge. My heart races and my ears ring from the constant crash of thunder. No it's not thunder. It's too loud, too unnatural. I spot a huge boulder flying through the sky and I can feel myself go pale. The boulder crashes above our heads, the group flattening against the side of the mountain.
"What is going on?" Bilbo yells above the storm.
"Son, don't you know what a storm in the Misty Mountains means?" Balin says from my right.
What? Looking up I see a giant rocky figure moving towards us. Oh no, it's one of those stone giants. My father used to tell me tales about the huge stone giants in these mountains. The huge giant walks towards us, throwing another boulder. It smashes into the side of the mountain. The ledge we are standing on starts moving and I realise we are on standing on a stone giant.
"Go! Get off this thing!" I shout, attempting to move left.
Our group is split in two, seven on one leg of the great stone giant, eight on the other. The giant that threw the first stone comes over and slams it's fist against the face of the one we are standing on. This causes him to fall sideways, his left leg hitting the side of the mountain.
"Lets go!" Thorin yells, rushing forward.
Since I am the last one I am literally pushing the Dwarves forward. I jump just as the stone giant moves its leg away from the mountain side. The other half of our group tries to get off the leg. But they don't succeed before the giant's right leg smashes into the mountain side to the left of our group.
"No!" Thorin yells.
The group moves forward a bit. I am expecting to find the half of our group smashed against the sides of the mountain, but that's not the case. Somehow these dwarves have managed to survive being crushed into the mountain. I sigh in relief, then I notice a certain hobbit is missing.
"Where's Bilbo?" Balin asks.
Looking over the edge we find Bilbo holding on for dear life. Dwalin and Fili grab his hands and try to pull him up. They just aren't strong enough-believe it or not-and the slippery stone isn't helping. Thorin ends up dropping over the edge and pushing Bilbo up onto the ledge.
Then he slips.
