~Chapter 4~

I lunge forward and grab a hold of Thorins wrist, he looks up at me in shock. Either from his sudden slip, or the fact that I am the one helping him. Kili and Dwalin help me pull him up, the rest of the Dwarves making sure we don't go over the edge.

"You shouldn't have come with us. I knew you'd be a burden." Thorin says to Bilbo.

Bilbo stares in shock and lowers his head. I watch Thorin walk by with wide eyes.

---

Everyone, or mostly everyone, is asleep in the little cave we found. I tried to convince the company to keep moving, since there are Goblins in these parts. No one would listen to me, they all wanted to find a place to rest for the night.

I am leaning back against the rocky wall, checking over my arrows. My bow is leaned against the wall next to me. I set an arrow down lightly and put my daggers back in their sheathe. There is a small noise and I freeze. Looking up I find Bilbo, with his stuff all packed, attempting to creep out of the cave.

"Where are you going?" I hiss.

Biblo turn and looks at me, sadness filling his eyes.

"I'm leaving. Thorin was right. I should never have come." He says.

"But your part of the company now, as I am." I state.

"Thorin was right, though. I miss my bed, I miss my books." Bilbo replies with a light shrug.

"That doesn't mean any-" I begin but am interrupted by rumbling.

"What is that?" Fili is sitting up now. Most of the Dwarves are.

I pick up my arrows and put the back in my quiver and grab my bow. I can sense something, something evil. Just as I shift into a crouching position, the ground below my feet splits in two. Yells and shouts echo through the tunnel as we are plunged down into a cavern. I land on top of the dwarf pile in a net.

"What is this?"

"Get off of me! Your crushing my back!"

Of course the Dwarves are complaining. I should've known.

"What is this?" Gloin asks from the bottom of the pile.

"It's a net." I say softly.

My senses ignite, taking in everything they can find. An incredibly horrid smell fills my nose, the drumming of feet echoes in my ears, and my skin crawls with a feeling of dread. This place reeks of death and foul creatures. I hear a sound above my head. Looking up I see creatures leaping down onto the net and grabbing one of the Dwarves in the pile. Goblins.

I thrash around as Goblins comes from every side. Eventually they get me up and shove me forward. Hoards and hoards of goblins have come to take us away. Where? I don't know, but I have a terrible feeling that it won't be good.

They lead us to a large wooden platform. And surround us. An incredibly fat Goblin, the Goblin King, sits in front of us.

"Well what do we have here? Thieves? Spies?" The king shouts.

No one answers. We just glare. I take advantage of the silence to take in my surroundings. We are in caverns of the Misty Mountains, home of the goblins. There are thousands of goblins around us, watching our every move. Many are hidden from view but I can hear them moving about, calling for our blood.

"Search them!" My attention is snapped back to the Goblin King as he gives the command.

Goblin are on our group within a second, pulling our weapons away from us. Three goblins, that's how many it takes to get my quiver of arrows, bow, and daggers, and I don't even resist. Glancing next to me I see Kili with an I'm-going-to-burn-you-alive-and-leave-you-for-the-crows look on his face. Thorin is somewhere behind me and I can hear him grumble curses in Dwarvish.
