WINTER

Day 261, Saturday, January 17th, 8:14pm

Jodie's POV

Marion, Liam, Louis, Niall, Harry, Gemma and I. Only seven of us left. Soon to be six. Marion isn't doing so well. She had fallen ill about three weeks ago and she still hasn't gotten better.

I've gotten a lot bigger. It's a bit strange because I look about eight months however I am only about five months I estimate.

We made it to Key West, Florida. We have been hiding out in the Everglades to protect us from any glazers or survivors. We had found an abandoned boat that can hold about ten people. The boys have been working on the boat's engine for a few weeks now. They've been rigging it with home made tools and natural oils from the trees and plants in the nature that surrounds us.

"Jodie, can you hand me the rest of the twine you have made!" Liam shouts. Breaking me from my trance.

"Sure!"

I grab the twine and walk it over to him.

"At this rate we will be on our way to Uninhabited within the next two weeks or so!" Louis says.

I laugh at him and walk back over to make more twine for the sails.

Soon enough, Niall comes over and sits next to me. He grabs my face and gives me a kiss and then moves down to kiss my belly and rub it with his hand. He looks up at me.

"I love you." He says. He leans up and kisses me again.

I smile and kiss him back.

"I love you too."

Suddenly we were broke from our trance when Gemma starts to scream. We all jump up, I struggle a bit because of my belly and we rush to her .

"Marion has gotten worse! Her fever still hasn't broke." Gemma says concerned.

"What do we do?" Harry asks.

"We can't just let her suffer." He continues.

"We may have to put her out of her misery. But it is her choice." I say.

Louis crouches down to Marion and talks to her, her voice is faint so you have to get close to hear.

Louis' face falls and tears form.

"What's wrong Louis?" I ask.

"She wants to spend one more day with us. And then we can put her out of her misery. She doesn't want to turn." He says sadly.

"She's really ill so what if she turns before the day is up?" Gemma asks.

"We will have to tie her to a tree and bury her hands under the soil and restrain her arms so if she turns she can't slice anyone with her tentacles." I say.

"Do it." Marion forces out.

"As long as I spend my last minutes with you guys. If I turn. Kill me. Let me be with Aiden once more." She pleads.

"We promise you'll be with Aiden soon." I say.

She smiles and let's us tie her up and bury her hands. We spend the rest of the day talking about anything and everything. Not mentioning what's to come within the next hours or so.
