"Jodie hasn't shown any signs. She would have turned by now. Unless... Oh my god." Louis gasps.

"What!" Liam's says frantically.

"I'm immune." I finish

Present

Silence. Nobody says a word.

"Impossible. How?" Harry says.

I had to tell them about my encounter with dad.

"How many of you believe in angels?" I ask.

From there I proceeded to explain how I escaped and how I didn't turn. How dad was watching over me and Ellen and was there when I was bit. How he made me and my future genetic generations down the road immune to the glaze.

They all seemed to sit and ponder for a long time.

"You saw dad?" Ellen looks at me, her eyes bright. Me and her always believed in angels so I knew she would believe me. The others I was scared they'd think I was crazy.

"Yes Ellen I saw him. Now I know some of you may not believe in certain things but believe me when I tell you that I saw him."

"Well I'll be damned. It's true then." Aiden spoke up.

He began smiling. Marion joined him and soon he whole group was smiling. They believed me.

"Now let's get you off of that bad leg." Niall said.

He guided me to the tents they set up and I laid down on the mattress. So glad to finally rest and feel safe.

Not even a minute later I fell asleep.

7 hours later

I woke up to the sun shining thorough the tent and an arm wrapped around my waist holding me close to their body. Niall.

I smile and snuggle into his chest, happy to be back.

He stirs awake.

"I'm so glad this wasn't a dream, you're still here." He stilled and leans forward to kiss me.

"I missed you so much Jodie. I honestly thought I lost everything." He says quietly.

"I'm here now." I smile.

"And I'm glad you are." He replies before planting another kiss on my lips.

He's holding my face and gently using his thumb to stroke it. He pulls back and moves the hair out of my face.

"I love you so much." He said before pulling me into a hug.

"I love you too." I say hugging him back

We pull away from the hug and Niall helps me out of the tent. He leads me to a rock to sit on and I begin to shiver. The desert morning being quite chilly. He walks away and goes to get something from the tent.

Harry's sitting I'm front of me, cooking a can of beans.

"Harry how many cans of beans do we have?" I ask laughing.

"Like 40." He said.

"Only 40?" I ask in a questioning tone?

"Shhhhh, let the chef meditate." He puts a finger up to his lips and smiles.

"Whatever you say chef." I laugh.

Niall comes back and sits next to me. He gives me my sweater. The one that came off from when I was taken. I put it on and thanked him. I leaned my head on his shoulder and he wrapped an arm around me. We made small talk, Harry joining in on our conversation.

Soon enough, breakfast was done and everyone gathered around the warm fire to eat their beans. It was silent. But a very peaceful silence. Everything was good. And I had a feeling things were going to get better. However, I also felt that things may not go as planned.
