As I walked out into the streets, the cold wind hit me.
It wasn't that chilly an hour ago.
Today, was Monday and there seemed to be many people outside.
They don't have work?
Oh! It's lunch time.
I mentally face palmed myself for my lack of intelligence.
As I kept walking, I started to grow lonely.
All the people walking on the same street that I was walking on were couples.
They had interlocked their fingers and seemed happy with their relationship.
Why can't that be me?
Why must I wait?
Growing sadder the minute flew by, I slowed down my steps.
Sulking, I kept my eyes on the dry ground beneath me.
I walked into a small cafe and asked for a table for one.
That just felt depressing saying that.
More couples sat in the cafe.
I noticed three girls that I knew very well enter the cafe and they seemed to have also noticed me.
"Haera!" One of them yelled and pulled a chair from another table to my lonely one.
"Hi. I shyly responded.
"Jihyo, pull up a chair!" She ordered.
"Yah Dahyun, don't boss your eonnie around." A third girl glared.
Dahyun smiled sheepishly before moving over a bit so the other two could pull up their chairs.
"Why are you sitting here alone?" Jihyo spoke up.
"I don't know, I don't have anyone to sit with." I shrugged while occasionally looking outside of the window.
"Well you're in luck, you have us now!" Dahyun cheered.
Smiling slightly, I let them babble about their days while I kept looking outside.
Directly in front of me, was a small shop and to the right of it, was a small alley.
"Yah, Haera are you even listening?" The third girl asked while looking irritated.
"Sorry Chaeyoung, I was just zoning out." I truthfully spoke.
Chaeyoung sighed while patting my back.
"Anyways, what were you saying?"
"I was saying, we need to get you a boyfriend." Chaeyoung wiggled her eyebrows.
Widening my eyes, I stared at them.
I want one,
Scratch that, I need one.
But, do I need one right now?
"A-Are you sure?" I asked worriedly.
"Of course! I mean look at you, you keep staring at the other couples." Dahyun pointed out while shoving a mouthful of rice into her mouth.
"How do you plan on doing so?" I raised one eyebrow.
"Well, there's a lot of cute boys in our school! I'm sure we can talk to some and get them to meet you." Jihyo spoke up from sipping her tea.
Nodding, I let them continue coming up with a plan.
What caught my attention was, that a figure stood nearby the alley.
I couldn't see their face of anything, but I saw a figure.
Huh? It looks like the same figure that I saw walking behind me.
Squinting, I paid close attention to it.
"Hey Chaeyoung, do you see that shadow?" I asked while pointing to it.
Chaeyoung looked over and squinted her eyes, trying to see it.
"What figure? I don't see anything." She spoke up after she stopped looking.
"W-Wait you don't see it?" I exclaimed.
"Haera what's going on?" Jihyo asked while looking at Chaeyoung and I.
"T-There's a shadow over there near the alley!"
This time, Dahyun looked up from her rice and walked over towards the window.
"I think you're going crazy. There's nothing there." Dahyun shook her head before sitting back down.
Am I going crazy?
I swear there's a shadow near the alley.
