Insurgance

"You're monster."

That lingered in my head the whole week.

I haven't gotten a single message from the unknown number, presumably the boy who visited me at the park.

Day by day, it was normal for me to go to school, come home and do my work, then cry.

Why was I actually crying?

I couldn't understand.

During school, I always fought the urge to keep starting at Jaebum.

Besides, he'll never talk to someone like me.

The truth hurts.

I'm waiting for someone who will treat me right,

Love me for who I am,

Care about me,

Embrace me when I need to be.

Is it all that hard?

To answer it, it is.

Hyejong still wasn't found, I grow more lonely at school.

She was my only true friend, someone that I deeply trusted and cared for.

But now, she was gone.

Every time I would look over to her old seat, I would have to fight the urge to cry.

Haneul wasn't at school today, she decided to spend the whole day at the hospital with Jaeyong.

I would also, if I haven't already missed so many days of school.

While walking back to class from the canteen where I sat alone, I bumped into someone.

Without looking, I started to apologize.

I finally looked up after the what felt like the hundredth bow, only to find out that it was the one and only Im Jaebum.

Widening my eyes, I pulled down a few strands of hair so it would cover up my blushing face.

"You're Yang Haera right?" He spoke.

He said my name.

While squealing in the inside, I remained calm and reserved in the outside.

"Yes." I spoke quietly.

He smiled a bit before he reached his arm out.

Does he want me to shake it?

"Well Miss Yang, let's be friends."

Oh my god, did he just ask to be friends.

While dying in the inside, I gladly accepted his handshake request and we both smiled.

I wanted to die.

We walked back to class together while talking about the most bizarre things.

As we entered, we parted ways to get to our seats and start our next class, Calculus.

Truthfully speaking, I do not like math very much at all, but I'm good at it.

The teacher came in, Mr. Do, and the class began.

After an hour of tiredly working on math problems, school was over.

"Hey Haera, do you want me to walk you back home?" Jaebum spoke as he approached me from his seat.

He flashed me a smile, it was killer.

You don't know how much you kill me.

Nodding vigorously, he chuckled and we both walked out of class towards the main school doors.

At least, me walking with him did not cause any wildfire with the girls.

Our school, is not like those in cliché fan-fictions.

We don't have queenka's or kingka's, and no one cares about their popularity.

This school, is based on academics and has only challenging courses.

I got into here because of a scholarship, I won from when I still lived in Seoul with my adopted parents.

Same thing with Haneul, she got in the same way.

"Tell me when we reach your apartment." Jaebum hummed as we started to walk.

Little did they know, that someone was watching their every move.
