"Haera let's go out!" Haneul cheered as I came home from school.

"Are you crazy? We can't leave Jaeyong alone at night." I scolded her as I put down my backpack near the front door.

Haneul pouted as she walked over to his room.

Peaking, she opened the door more until I could see his figure peacefully sleeping.

"He'll be okay, he just went to take a nap a few minutes ago. He'll only wake up in like five hours."

"Where do you want to go?"

"Let's go to The Arc!"

"Are you kidding me? You want to go to a art museum?" I raised my eyebrows.

"It'll be fun." She pleaded.

"No, you can go with your friends while I'll stay home with Jiyong." I sat down on the couch.

"Hae-ah, you're too much like a mother. It's our last year in school and you gotta have fun!"

"I'll be having fun watching KDramas."

Snorting, she stomped away towards her own room.

As I turned on the television, the news flickered on from the MNET channel.

"Breaking News: another girl has been kidnapped in the Daegu Metropolitan Area. Her name is Kim Hyejong, and she is a fourth year student at Daegu Academics Academy."

Kim Hyejong?

My eyes widened as I realized that my friend was kidnapped.

Running, I rushed into Haneul's room only to find her on her phone sitting on her bed.

"Hyejong was kidnapped." I spoke urgently.

Her phone slipped from her hands and fell into her face as she instantly stood up.

Her eyes flickered from confusion to panic.

"We gotta find her."

"How?" She yelped as her voice cracked.

"We just have to."

Without letting her say anything, I ran out of her room and sprinted towards the front door. Opening it, I ran out.

I left everything at home.

My keys,

My phone,

My purse,

I left everything.

Rushing towards her apartment that was five apartments away from mine, I saw police surround it.

Making my way through, I got inside her apartment and went up to her floor.

As I arrived, I saw her parents.

They were standing in the doorway.

They were crying,

Embracing each other.

I suddenly stopped running.

They are embracing each other.

In a time of need, it's the only way to comfort someone.

Why hasn't anyone comforted me like that when my parents died?

Her parents seemed to have noticed me staring, as they stopped hugging and ran over to me.

"I'm so sorry Mr and Mrs Kim." I spoke quietly as they kept sobbing.

"Do you know where she went before she came home?" I spoke again.

"She told us that she was going to be heading home through the alley shortcut." Her father sobbed.

The alley?

"T-The alley across the Haroo Cafe?" I trembled.

Mrs Kim answered for him, and I felt my knees buckle.

The unknown number,

The green eyes,

It must be the kidnapper.

As I continued to comfort Hyejong's parents, the police came back to us.

"A witness says that they have spotted her on a motorcycle heading to Seoul with the kidnapper."

"Please, do whatever you can to bring back our daughter." Mr Kim pleaded.

And that was it.

I rushed out of their apartment to the alley.
