The Family of Bats (DRABBLES)

WARNING: This is... deep and depressing. Also, first time writing Collin, so he's probably OOC.

The Batfamily, save Alfred and Damian, were in the living room watching a TV show about food.

Damian came into the living room holding his phone with a confused look of his face.

"Richard, I don't understand." Damian said in a quiet voice.

Dick immediately turned down the volume.

"What's up, Damian?" Richard sensed that this was a serious moment.

Damian handed Dick his phone.

Richard read over the messages real fast.

"Damian, who's Collin?" Dick asked.

"Collin is a friend. I do not understand him though. Why would he say goodbye?" Damian asked.

"Dami, go get your jacket." Richard said.

Damian left to get his jacket, but he still had a confused look on his face.

"Bruce, Collin is talking about jumping off a building." Richard said as he grabbed car keys and his jacket.

Bruce looked at him a few moments before saying, "Bring him back here."

Richard nodded.

Damian popped up then.

"Come on! Let's go find Collin. Do you know where he is?" Dick asked.

"The orphanage." Damian nodded.

Richard smiled tightly, "Okay!"

"Collin!" Damian called out.

They were standing behind Collin who was on the edge, literally and figuratively.

"Damian, go. Turn away, I don't want you to see this." Collin said, looking at the ground.

"Hey, Collin, right?" Dick made himself known.

Collin gasped and turned around to see Richard.

"Damian! Who's this?" Collin asked.

"Relax. This is Grayson." Damian said.

"Hi!" Dick smiled.

"Why is he here?" Collin asked, glaring at Richard.

"He won't hurt you. He's not like the other adults." Damian explained.

"Sweet and cuddly Richard, yeah?" Collin asked.

Damian blushed but nodded, "Yeah."

"You should both go. You're not stopping me." Collin said, turning back to the ground.

"Well, if you jump now, you'll have two broken legs at the most." Dick said, stepping closer to Collin. "Besides, if you do fail tonight, you'll be put on 24/7 suicide watch. That means no Damian. And I don't think you'd want that. So, wanna tell me what's wrong?" Dick asked, sitting on the edge.

"Like you care!" Collin snarled.

"I remember the last time I was on the edge of a building. I was about to jump too. Except the building I was on was MUCH taller than this. I would for sure die from it." Richard shared.

"What? B-But you're cuddly, emotional Richard! It's all sunshine and rainbow for you! That's what Damian said." Collin said.

"It wasn't always sunshine, honey. I watched my parents be murdered in front of me when I was 8. Then I was put into the Gotham Detention Center. Thrust into a whole new culture and continent that I had only been in for 5 months. I found out I'd be here for a long time and I didn't even know English! Then Bruce took me in-don't even adopt me at first- that's when I started cutting. My first suicide attempt was a week later." Dick said.
