Richard whistled as he walked down the sidewalk with his fellow officers' coffees in hand, wearing a plain black jacket.

Suddenly, someone walked quickly out of a store, hitting head-on into Grayson.

They both fell onto the sidewalk, coffee spilling on the ground but lightly splashing them.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" The other person said, getting up and offering Dick a hand.

Richard took the helping hand.

"It's fine. You should just be more careful!" Dick smiled.

Richard brushed himself off and looked at the person.

She has her brown hair tied back into a long ponytail, going to her mid-back. She had on black skinny jeans, black combat boots, and a black and white leather jacket. Her blue eyes said 'sorry' when he looked into them.

"Are you okay though?" Richard asked.

"Yes. But I should be asking you that!" She said, distressed.

"Oh, no! I'm fine! Nothing a band-aid can't fix!" Richard smiled.

"I'm really sorry! Let me buy you your coffee again!" She offered.

"That's nice, but it's coffee for my office." Dick said, picking up the spilled cups and holders.

"That makes this worse! You're going to be late because of me!" the woman stressed.

"It's fine, really!" Richard smiled.

"I'll buy your coffee; it's the least that I can do." She said, very determined.

"Okay, I know when I'm in a battle that I'm losing." Dick said.

They started walking to the coffee shop.

"What's your name?" Richard asked.

"Suzzie. Yours?" Suzzie asked.

"Richard. But most people call me 'Dick'. And yes, I've heard all the jokes about my name." Dick said.

Suzzie smiled, "I really wasn't going to laugh." She promised.

"It's fine. I tell people to just get it out." Richard said.

He held open the door to the coffee shop.

"Thank you!" Suzzie went in.

"Back again, Dick?" The barista asked.

"Yeah, had a little accident with the sidewalk." Richard blushed.

The barista's eyebrows rose.

"I'll get your order then." The barista started making the coffee.

"I know this isn't the best way to meet someone, but would you like to get coffee sometime? Not getting coffee like this, but sitting down and all." Suzzie asked.

"I'd love that!" Dick smiled.

"Great! Here's my number." She grabbed Dick's hand and wrote her digits on the palm of his hand.

"Awesome! Here's mine." He wrote his number on the back of her receipt for the coffee.

Suzzie smiled.

"I shall be awaiting your call or text." Suzzie winked.

"And it shall come within a night, my dear lady." Dick bowed.

They both burst out laughing.

Everyone in the department, both day and night shift, were standing or sitting, talking to each other.

Suddenly, a singing voice got louder.

The talking died down as the voice got louder.

Suddenly, Grayson was seen, singing and walking, with the coffee.

He pushed the door open with his foot and slid in.

Grayson's singing died down as he got to his desk and put the coffee on it.

He didn't stop smiling though.

"Okay! This is night shift's coffee. And this is the day shift's!" Dick smiled.

"Rookie! What took so long?" Addad demanded to know.

"You will NOT believe the morning I had!" Richard smiled brightly.

"Is he always like this?" Terry, a night shift officer, asked.

"He's normally happy, but not this happy." Shalt said.

"What happened?" Ylang asked.

"Oh! It was amazing! Someone ran into me and spilled the coffee all over!" Dick smiled.

"How is that amazing?" Malkore asked.

"Because she was so nice! We argued about her paying for the coffee, but she insisted that she paid for new coffee. So, we went to get new coffee. And while we were there, we exchanged numbers! She wrote hers on my hand. And she asked me on a coffee date!" Richard practically vibrated with happiness and excitement.

Everyone was quiet.

"Oh my gosh." Lolli had wide eyes.

"Only you, Grayson. Only you." Amy shook her head.

"What?" Dick frowned, worried.

Ylang laughed loudly, "Only you could get a date out of an accident!"

"But that's what normally happens." Dick said, unzipping his black jacket.

Most of the day shift face-palmed.

"So, tell us a bit about her." Lolli said.

"I don't know much about her." Dick said.

"I'm off on Saturday, right?" Richard asked.

"Yes. I make sure that I schedule you a day off each week." Addad said.

"Coffee date on Saturday!" Richard laughed, pulling out his phone.

"You're SO telling us about this on Monday!" Ylang said, sipping her coffee.
