Sorry it took so long to get this chapter up, but I hope you enjoy it!
Third Person POV
Peter couldn't help but grumble to himself, annoyed. Of course Aunt May just happened to notice his injuries, and she just had to bring him to the emergency room. And now here he was, laying in a hospital bed when he could be...well doing anything really.
"Peter, for goodness sakes," Aunt May scolded from where she was seated in a chair by his bed.
"Buy I'm bored!" he flung his arms around dramatically.
Ignoring him, she only continued to read the magazine her attention was focused on. Sighing loudly, Peter sunk lower in the bed and closed his eyes. Time always went by faster when you were sleeping.
But just as he felt himself beginning to drift off, he was aware of a voice from outside the room. A voice he most certainly did not expect to hear, even if he had wished it.
"This is his room sweetheart." A nurse, most likely.
"Thank you." There it was. So clear and beautiful.
Gwen.
Knock. Knock.
Aunt May raised her eyebrows at Peter, and he only shrugged. He wasn't surprised she hadn't heard anything, but he was Spiderman after all.
She went to the door and opened it, and stepped back at what she saw, "Gwen, dear. I know Peter will be happy to see you."
That was only the understatement of the year. He had been so scared, so freaking worried after she kicked him out of her apartment. What if she never talked to him again? He had no idea what he'd do. How had he ever managed to laugh and smile before meeting Gwen Stacy?
She walked into the room, and damn, it was barely even seven o'clock in the morning, and Peter was certain she was still the most stunning person he had ever seen.
Gwen walked to the end of the bed, and hesitantly sat on it. She looked him over, looking near tears, "Oh, Peter."
"Gwen?" Why was she here? Did she regain her memory- no, that couldn't be it. He was never that lucky.
"We need to talk," she managed to speak calmly, although it appeared she was struggling to keep her emotions in check.
Peter nodded, "Yeah. Okay." He looked at Aunt May, and getting the message, she presses a light kiss to her nephew's head before exiting the room.
Gwen sighed, and a tear fell, "Peter, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean-"
"No," he cut her off. "I overstepped, and I apologize. But, you're amazing, and I really want to continue being your friend."
"Just a friend?" Gwen asked, and he noticed a slight smirk beginning to appear on her face.
"Well, yeah for now. Not that I wouldn't date you because I would. But this relationship is completely platonic, at least for me. Yeah, we're good friend, I think so. We could be! And.." Peter's face turned red as he looked away. Gosh was he socially awkward.
But Gwen didn't laugh or make fun of him. She never did. Instead, she did something else.
Peter was so shocked he thought he had imagined it, or he was seriously losing his mind. But when she pressed her lips to his, he knew it had to be real. But how?
Pulling back, Gwen appeared nervous, "There's also something else I need to tell you."
