Gwen's POV~ Yeah, I know the last two chapters were and you guys probably miss Peter (believe me, I do too) but it just works best for the story this way.
It takes me a minute to even be able to respond, and when I do, it's barely audible. "What?"
My mother looks at me in sympathy, "She gave me his room number. We can go see him later if you'd like."
I stand up from the table, shaking my head. "No. Can we go now?"
She sighs,. "Gwen, it's barely even light out-"
"No," I repeat. "I need to see him."
"I can't just leave your brothers," she speaks gently.
"They're irrelevant!" I threw my hands in the air. "Did Aunt May even say if Peter was even stable? Oh gosh, what if his life was threatened? Well obviously it was if he was in the hospital. Is he fine now? What-"
"Gwen!" My mom cut me off. "Rambling is the only irrelevant thing right now. I know you feel bad- even though you shouldn't- but going to the hospital right now won't help Peter."
I hiccuped, and a sob I didn't even know I was holding it came out, "I need to see him. Please."
Her eyes softened and an unreadable expression crossed her face, "Honey, is there any other reason? Something you're not telling me?"
I wiped at my eyes, "Yes, maybe. I...had a dream earlier."
My mother gestured for me to go on, which I did, "It almost felt real."
I think back to the way his hands felt on my lower back, and how I could practically feel the wind blowing at my hair. His lips on mine felt so real, and natural.
Continuing, I look up, "I remember him, Mom. Everything."
