*Wednesday's P.O.V.*

When I woke up I was lying on some beach with Percy's arm around my waist and his chin resting on my head. I was comfortable and warm lying next to him, I felt protected and safe after the day we both went through yesterday. I wanted to stay like that forever, but I had a feeling that wherever we were, we needed to get back to camp as soon as possible. So, even though I really didn't want to, I gently reached back and shook Percy's shoulder to gently wake him up.

He grunted and turned over in his sleep, taking his arm from around my waist.

"Percy! Wake up, Percy!" I whispered in his ear, the bridge of my nose barely brushing his normally soft, dark hair; at the moment it was matted and filled with saltwater and sand; and I'm sure mine was no better.

I sat up and looked around. My eyes landed on Percy, still asleep on the beach next to me. I heard slight snores coming from deep in his throat and I rolled my eyes.

"WAKE UP PERCY!!!!" I yelled, socking him in the arm.

"It wasn't me!!!" he said almost shouting, a confused look on his sandy face. Despite the situation, I laughed at him.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing...." I replied.

He looked around, his green eyes scanning the deserted beach as I had done. I was debating asking him where we were, until I remembered he probably didn't know either.

I put a hand on his shoulder, a gentle reminder that I was still there and could provide help if needed.

It startled him, and he turned his head sharply in my direction and just stared into my hazel eyes. I stared back into his beautiful, sea green ones. Wait, not beautiful- I didn't say- urgh!!!! I didn't mean that!!! Well whatever.

"You-" his sentence drifted off with the wave that just barely reached our toes before being swept back out by the current.

Percy stood up, facing out toward the ocean and stuffed his hands in his pockets. He looked deep in thought, and when he turned back toward me I could see tears of anger in his eyes that nearly broke my heart.

"I- don't know where we are, Wednesday." he said. "I'm- sorry." he said, his voice breaking.

I could also feel tears that burned behind my eyes as I stood and faced him, taking his hands in mine.

"It's ok, Percy. We have each other. We're gonna be alright." I said, trying to convince myself of this as well as him.

"But we need to get back to camp!" He said, somewhat angrily.

"I know that, Percy. But I think that we should at least try to figure out where we are first."

"Yeah. I guess you're right."

I smirked at him.

"When am I NOT right?"

He smiled, but didn't respond. We were in quite a predicament, being stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere with no way of getting back to camp.

I watched as Percy walked down the beach to a small cluster of rocks by the water's edge and stare out to sea.

*Percy's P.O.V.*

I walked to a cluster of rocks by the water and stared out to sea, my fingertips barely brushing the salty-wet surface of the smooth stones. After maybe ten minutes of just thinking things over, I turned around and saw Wednesday walking the opposite way down the sand, her footsteps silent and light leaving only slight tracks in the sand. As I watched her, she bent down and drew a picture in the sand and watched as the waves came in and swept it back it to sea, it's roots- It's home, where it came from. I half- hoped it would have the same affect on my thoughts, but I had no such luck.

I sighed and walked back over to her. As I came closer, something orange caught my eye. It was in between a cluster of rocks by the waters edge. As I moved closer, I realized it was the backpack.

"Wednesday!" I yelled.

She looked back, her hair fanning out behind her as she turned around.

"I found the backpack! We can Iris-message people at camp!" I said.

Her jaw dropped and she ran toward me and jumped into my arms. I spun her around, and I felt happy and relieved.

*Nighttime*

*Still Percy's P.O.V.*

It was cold on the island, and we weren't able to contact people at camp because for whatever reason the call wouldn't go through. The sun was setting, and we began to start a fire. We didn't have anything to eat, so we just went hungry.

"Hey Percy?" I heard Wednesday say. I turned my head toward her.

"Yeah?"

"How did you get claimed?"

I frowned.

"What do you mean?" I asked, genuinely confused.

"Like, what happened? How?"

"Well...... I guess all that happened was I stepped into the water, and..... My dad claimed me. I guess that's all." I said.

She nodded and stared into the fire. I watched her shiver slightly in he half-light and scooted closer to her on the ground. I put my jacket over her shoulders and wrapped my arm around her as she leaned her head on my shoulder. I began to sway back and forth, and in just a few minutes she was asleep I my arms.I leaned down and kissed her gently on the cheek.

I didn't know for sure, but I could've sworn I saw her smile before I fell asleep, my back against the tree by the fire, sitting there with my arm still around Wednesday.
