I was excited about today because my husband was coming home and I was going to make sure that he was happy when he came home. I finally arrived back home with bags in my hand I had been out all day shopping so that I could get this dinner ready for tonight since just about everyone who was everyone was going to be coming through tonight so they could welcome C home.
Once I got in the house I threw my keys down on the table and sat the bags down on the counter. I then walked up to the room found me something a little more comfortable slipped it on then went back downstairs so I could get started on this dinner. As I was doing that my cell rang. I rolled my eyes and walked over to my purse in which I had laid down on the table soon as I walked in the house. Anyways once I retrieved my phone I answered it without looking at the caller ID.
"Hello baby how you doing?" I heard my mother's cheerful voice say on the other end of my phone.
"Hey, mom," I say smiling back. "And I'm good just preparing for this dinner tonight since C is coming home tonight," I replied.
"That's good do you need any help?" She asked.
"Yes, I could really use some please," I say smiling at the thought of my mom helping me.
"Okay, the kids and I will be there in a few. I have no idea as to where your dad and sisters are." She sighed.
"Knowing those three their probably at that damn office." I laughed.
"True but I'm on my way, Hun." She says before hanging up.
"Okay mom love you and see you when you get here."
My mom laughed and told me she loved me also as she hung up. My family and I had a tight night relationship. We never really had to worry about much when it came down to us talking or discussing something about what was going on with us. I guess it was because my parents were never judgmental people and they had always taught us not to be that way also. Anyways I started back cooking my dinner when like forty minutes later my mom came walking into the house.
"Wow, that didn't take long," I say as I looked up and smiled at my mom.
"Naw I hit the twenty so it never takes long." She says smiling back as she made her way over to the kitchen.
"Where are the the kids?" I asked raising my eyebrow.
"They're in there with Nicey we were coming up at the same time." My mom says smiling.
I nodded my head okay and told my mom to finish cutting up the potatoes that I had been cutting up. I needed to go and see my babies I was missing them like crazy. And it only felt right for me to pull them into my arms and squeeze them. Anyways I walked into the living room where I saw Nicey playing with my daughter while Fred played on the game.
"Hey, Freddy," I say smiling as I walked over to him.
"Mommie." He yelled jumping and running over to me where he jumped on me and damn near knocked me down.
"Wow boy whatchu tryna do kill me?" I ask laughing.
"No mommie." He says shaking his head as he kissed me on the cheek.
I smiled and kissed him back, even though Fred and I had our issues as mother and son at the end of the day he was my first born and he meant a lot to me. I finished kissing him and spoiling him then walked over to where Nicey was and grabbed Faith. As I picked her up I could see a sparkle in her eyes as she smiled and blew spit bubbles at me. She was the prettiest little thing, hell she looked too much like me if you asked me.
At first, when she was born I would say that she looked like her dad but the older she got the more she seemed to come out looking like me. Anyways I continued to play with her until she went to sleep. I took her upstairs to her room and laid her in her bed then went back downstairs and finished helping my mother cook. I was so happy about seeing my husband when he got home.
