Chapter Fourteen

*Aubrey's POV*

I rolled over and blinked my heavy eyelids. I looked around and everything from earlier came flooding back to me. A smile spread across my face as I thought about what a tease Miles was being. I shifted and felt this strange tugging on my waist. I looked down and saw Miles arms wrapped around me. I chuckled and pulled his arms off my waist. I stood up and pecked his lips before putting my clothes back on and leaving the room. My stomach growled, letting me know I was hungry. Figuring that Miles would be hungry too, I decided to make lunch, even though it technically dinner, since its 6:30 at night. I looked around in the cuppboards and found the stuff to make chicken alfredo, then started cooking. While I waited for the water to boil, I decided to go out and smoke. I walked outside and just as I lit up a ciggarette, my phone started playing 'show stopper' by Dantiy Kane. I smiled and answered it.

"Hey bitch."

"Hey hoe, did you figure something out?"

"I think I'm just going to keep him around for now and if things get to serious or I feel like either of us are in any danger then I will end things." I didn't tell her that things are already pretty serious, she didn't need more to worry about.

"Are you sure?"

"yeah."

"okay, I just don't want you to get hurt."

"I know."

"So we have a task for work tommorrow night, Derek just called me."

"Shit alright, what is our task?"

"Well tasks actually. Jc has been arrested, H-Tubbs needs a delivery, and we have to make a deal with viper."

"Okay well J-Bird didn't get my cancelation so I've got to make it up next weekend and you probably do as well, he seemed prettty pissed that we bailed on him."

"Yeah he was pissed when I told him I had to cancel, but when I mentioned it was for work he told me to just come in next weekend."

"So what's this deal that we are making with viper?"

"New clients, more resources, and most importantly, a new alli."

"Fun." I mumbled sarcastically.

"yeah its a party." she retorted. I let out a heavy breath.

"Well I have to go make dinner before Miles wakes up."

"Aw aren't you a good little housewife?" she teased. I rolled my eyes.

"He wishes." I said and hung up my phone. I put out my Cigarette and walked back into the house to finish lunch-dinner- whatever you want to call it. Just as I was putting the alfredo on to plates and setting the table, Miles came shuffling into the kitchen.

"Good morning sleepy head." I teased. He smiled at pecked me on the lips.

"What time is it?" His voice husky and rough from sleep. God that's so hot.

"Seven." I said, checking my phone. He laid his head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around him.

"you know that even if we left now, we wouldn't get home until one in the morning, right?" He said, his vioce muffled by my neck.

"Yeah I know."

"Guess we shouldn't have done that. Eh?"

"Are you saying you regret it?" I kissed his temple and laid my head on his.

"No it was just bad timing."

"That it was." His stomach growled and I smiled. "Dinners on the counter." He stood up straight and smiled.
