Chapter 9 Mission: Ain't No Other Man

After Trent debriefed Tamera, Jared, and Kevin they went off to the party. Trent wanted Tamera to arrive at the party in a separate car to give Ian's accomplice the impression that they didn't know each other. Jared and Kevin got to the party five minutes before Tamera and were both dressed in nice suites. Later Tamera walked in wearing a red dress with a pair of black heals. She had decided to curl her hair and put a little make up on.

Jared saw her walking in when the light hit her perfectly. Jared couldn't help but stare at her. Kevin playfully punched Jared in the arm and smile at him. "She does look pretty." Kevin said to Jared who had a smirk. "Wha-, I umm. We need to focus on the mission at hand." Jared said trying to regain his stone face.

Trent had given them each a earpiece so they could communicate with one another. "Ian's accomplice is standing over by the water fountain. His office is directly behind him. We need a distraction so Kevin and I can get inside his office and get the file." Jared said the into the earpiece to Tamera. "Alright one distraction coming up." Tamera said walking over to a mike. "Wait! Tamera, what are you doing?" Jared said with a frantic voice. "I'm going to distract Ian's accomplice while you two get the file." Tamera said. "Kevin, can you hack into the sound system and lighting of this place?" Tamera asked glancing in his direction. "Of course I can. What do you need?" Kevin answered.

"Everything is ready to go, Tamera." Kevin said. "Alright, let it rip." Tamera said with a grin. Suddenly the lights dimmed and a spot light found Tamera standing on the ledge of the fountain. The song Ain't No Other Man by Christana Aguilara started to play and Tamera started to sing. Everyone was focused on Tamera at this point. While Jared and Kevin made their way over to the office.

Once inside they started to search for the file. The song was starting to end and they still couldn't locate the file. "Tamera, we need more time." Kevin said into the earpiece. Tamera cursed into the earpiece then said "Would you like to hear another one?" The crowd cheered and Tamera was trying to figure out what to sing next. Finally deciding she spoke into the mike "We are going to slow things down a little bit. This song is dedicated to the gentle throwing this party." Tamera said pointing at Ian's accomplice. His accomplice then had a grin spread across his face. She then sang Heart by Heart by Demi Lovato.

Jared finally found a hidden safe which contained the file. Once he cracked the safe an alarm went off which caused all the party guest to go into a panic and rush out. "Guys, Ian's accomplice is heading to his office and he has his henchmen with him. Get out of there." Tamera said trying to talk over the screaming crowd. "Damn, we have no where to go." Jared said in a frantic voice.

Without thinking Tamera ran over to the henchmen and takled one. This caused the other henchmen and Ian's accomplice to turn their attention away from the office door. Jared came running out the door toward the henchmen and fought his through and grabbed Tamera and began to run to the van which Kevin was already in. They had finally lost the henchmen and drive to headquarters.

"You could have gotten yourself killed. Tackling that henchman." Jared said looking annoyed. "You know a thank you for saving my life would have been just fine." Tamera said rolling her eyes at Jared. Jared gave up the argument and moved to the passenger seat. No one talked the rest of the drive back.
