Chapter 1 The Life She Used to Know

Tamera was walking to Claire's house to find Jared. She would never be caught dead going to Claire's house unless Jared asked her. Claire was a beautiful tall blonde with blues eyes but she could also be the devil's little helper. It was obvious that Jared was dating Claire for her looks and not for her lovely personality. Tamera was nearly the opposite of Claire. Tamera was only five foot, with dark brown hair that was a little longer than shoulder length with bangs, and dark brown eyes. Tamera had always been close with Jared, ever since her parents died and she started living with her brother Chris.

Claire's house was a two story house with an elevator and all the fancy things that a rich family had. The house was filled with all the popular kids from her high school. Tamera awkwardly made her way through the house to the backyard. In the backyard there was a huge pool with a slide and a hot tub. She looked around for Jared only to find Claire in the hot tub with her friends. Claire then looked at Tamera with disgust and said "This party is for popular kids only." "Jared asked me to come. I just came to see him so if you could just tell me where he is, I can just go." Tamera said avoiding eye contact with Claire. "You know I think I saw him in the pool. Why don't go look for him in there?" Claire said smiling. Tamera walked over to the pool to look for Jared. Suddenly Claire yelled to one of her friends "Hey Brian, I think Little Tamera wants to go for a swim." Brian walked over to Tamera picked her up and through her in the pool. Tamera then swam to the surface coughing and clumsily got out of the pool.

Once she was out of the pool and she regained her hearing. She could hear all the laughs of everyone at the party. Tamera didn't care that much about it but she decided she would meet up Jared some other time. Once she made her way out of the house she heard a voice call her name. She knew that that voice could only belong to one person. She turned around to see a tall handsome guy with dirty blonde, short slightly curly hair wearing only his swim trunks. Tamera knew it was Jared. "Tamera, wait! Look am sorry I didn't know they were to do that to you." Jared said looking at me with his light brown eyes. "I'm fine; I am just going to go home. If you're really that worried then call me after the party, alright?" Tamera said giving Jared a look he knew all to well. It was the look that said get back in there before I drag you in there. "Alright, but I will talk to you later." Jared smiling at Tamera.

Tamera was glad they lived in California because that means no one would judge her that much if she was soaking wet. She decided to walk along the beach to get home. When she finally got home she was still pretty soaked, but at least she wasn't dripping. She got home around six. Tamera walked in and tried to make her way past her brother Chris' room without him noticing that she was all wet. Once she started up the stairs he called to her "Why are you all wet? I thought you went to see Jared." " How did you know I was wet?" Tamera asked standing on the stairs. Chris came out of his room wearing a grey shirt with jeans. Chris was tall, buff, and handsome with light brown hair and blue eyes. People would never guess that Chris and Tamera were brother and sister unless they already knew it. "I could hear your squeaky wet shoes and I could smell the chlorine." He said giving her a look. "I was thrown in a pool it was no big deal. I'm just going to go up stairs and shower then I will come down to eat." She said going to her room.

Tamera liked taking showers it was the one place she could think and know she is all alone. She didn't know why but she started to think about her parent's death. It had always seemed weird to her that her parents died in a car crash. People die all the time in car crashes it just to Tamera that didn't seem right. She had lived with her brother ever since the car crash which she didn't mind but there were times when she missed them. When she was done she went down stairs for dinner. She always enjoyed eating dinner with Chris it was her time to hear about all the fun stuff he did at work. This of course was playing pranks on all the other people at normal office job. According to Chris he is the most exciting thing at the office.

After dinner Tamera went upstairs and put her pajamas on. She was waiting for Jared to call so they could do their usual thing and talk for three hours about random stuff. It was already dark outside when she heard a knock on the window. Which was bizarre since her room was on the second floor. Tamera pulled back the curtains to find Jared there waving with a goofy smile. "Hi, do you mind letting me in?" He said pointing at the window. Tamera went over and opened the window and then said "A normal person would go through the front door not the window. How did you get up there any way?" "Skill and who said I was normal?" Jared said stepping inside the room. "Besides I don't think Chris would appreciate me waking him at this hour." Jared said with a smile. Tamera and Jared talked from ten to about twelve o'clock there was a knock at the door it was Chris. Jared jumped out the window and on to the roof in one quick movement. "Hey, am going to go to bed now." Chris said. "Goodnight" Tamera said waving to Chris trying not to look suspicious. "Goodnight, oh and goodnight Jared." Chris said walking out the door. "Goodnight, Chris. Well I better get home." Jared said waving good bye to Tamera. "Bye" she said waving back at Jared.
