Chapter 10 Lies?!?

The drive to school was slightly awkward since Jared had to take Tamera since Kevin was busy. When they finally got to school they went their separate ways without so much of a single word. Once at her locker Tamera opened it and found a note inside which read "If you want to learn the truth about your parents then come to 35 North Street." Determined to find the truth Tamera left the school without telling Jared.

When she got to the address it was an abandoned building but on the inside it was like an office building. In the middle of the room was a man with light browned slicked back with blue eyes. He was wearing a blue suit and a friendly grin that didn't seem right. "Hello Tamera, my name is Ian Rogers. You may have already heard of me." Ian said. When Tamera heard this she took a step back toward the door. "You bastard! You killed my parents and put my brother into a coma. You're acting like your some long time friend when your not." Tamera told Ian almost in a scream. "Actually I have known you since you were a baby. Please come with me to my office so I can explain." Ian said still grinning and gesturing to a door.

Tamera followed Ian into his office hesitantly while watching his every move. Once in his office he gestured for her to take a seat. Tamera just stood leaning against the door with a stern look on her face. "Suit yourself." Ian said sitting on a leather seat behind his desk. "Your parents and I had been friends for a very long time. When your parents developed the serum they wanted to use it for erasing the memory of those who disagreed with them and the program they were working. Even Trent wanted to use the serum for his own personal gain. I on the other hand wanted to use the serum to help people have a clean slate and start over in life. But when I heard that Trent and your parents wanted use the serum for I decided to take things into own hands and steal the serum from them. Trent wouldn't have so he had you and your family run away with the serum. Unfortunately your brother Chris got caught in the cross fire."

Tamera couldn't believe what she was hearing. "You expect me to believe you after all that you have done." Tamera screamed at Ian. "Tamera, do you really think you can trust them? I mean they had you believe you had a best friend and that Trent was brother. I haven't lied to you once yet all the have done to you was feed you lies." Ian said giving her a sympathetic look. Tamera had heard enough and decided to leave without another word.

School was almost over when she got to the school. Jared was standing at the foot of the steps when she walked up. "Where the hell have you been?" Jared yelled at Tamera. "Screw you, you all treat me like a dog on a leash and you know what sometimes dogs need to let off their leash. I just went to the mall for some done time." Tamera yelled back as she got in the car.
