Chapter 4 Chris?!?

Trent led Tamera to the infirmary which had huge white walls. they walked into one of the rooms inside there was a guy about the same age as Trent which was 23. The guy had chocolate hair and was hooked up to a bunch machines which seemed to be keeping the guy alive. "Who is that?" Tamera asked Trent. "That is Chris. Your real brother." Trent said to Tamera. She walked over to Chris and looked up at Trent. "What happened to him? Why did you pretend to be Chris and why didn't I realize that you're not my brother?" Tamera was furious with just about everyone in that room.

"Just let me explain." Trent said trying to calm her down. "Let me start at the beginning where it all started. Your parents weren't insurance agents like they said. They were actually scientists. Brilliant scientists, in fact they created a serum that altered memories. The word about the serum got out somehow and just about every bad person on the planet and they all wanted to get their greedy hands on it. These people were are willing to do anything to get it. Your parents knew this so they disappeared for a while until one day a man by the name of Ian Rogers found you, Chris, and your parents.

The first thing he did was go after Chris their first born son. Ian had a put together a little accident for Chris which put him in a comma. This was just a message for your parents. They said that you ,Tamera, would be next. Your parents decided it would be best for you and Chris if they used the serum on you to make you think they died in a car crash and that I was your brother. You have to understand they did this to protect you and your brother." Trent said looking at Tamera.

Tamera felt suddenly dizzy and had to sit down. Finally she looked up at Trent. "So does that mean my parents are still alive? I mean you said they altered memory so that could mean they are still out their somewhere, right?" Tamera said with a hopeful look in her eye. "No, I'm sorry but your parents really are dead. They killed themselves when our old headquarters was raided. They saved all our lives." Trent said with a remorseful look. "What happened to their research? Surely you have a file or something on it?" Tamera asked trying to hide the pain she was feeling. "All your parents research died with them. They never wrote anything down nor put on a computer nor a flash drive. They memorized all of it" Trent said.

After a few minutes of silence Trent told Jared to show Tamera to her new room. Jared took her to a room with light gray walls and to her surprise all of her instruments, books, and clothes was in there. In fact everything she owned was already put on that room. She turned to face Jared and said "Can you stay a while I could really use a friend right now." "Tamera, I know you have just gone through a lot right now, but you should know am not your friend. I never was. I was told to pretend to be your friend so I could protect you but now you will get a new protector. It was my job to be your friend, my job is now over." Jared said with a cold look in his. Jared simply turned around and left without another word leaving Tamera all lone.
