Scarlet
After I parked my car in the garage, I dashed to my room to finally take my disguise off. The wig was itching my scalp and the contacts were burning my eyes which caused for huge irritation on my part.
The problems that came with this life style was killing me.I entered the modernized building for the small flat I was given to live in. The guard was by the door and gave me a head nod and allowed me through. The rotating door gave me an entrance into the lobby area. It consisted of white marble floors, expensive leather furniture and crystal chandeliers hung on the high ceilings. It was a big enough room to hold maybe 60 people yet, it was empty. The wall facing the rotating doors held three elevators to the 9 floors above. I walked over and pressed the button and waited for the elevator. A ding was made meaning that the elevator was here. Soon enough, the doors opened, allowing me to go in. I pressed on the 9th floor to my flat.
I patiently waited in there while looking through the glass window of the elevator. The scenery before was something I saw every day but it was still relaxing to look at. Through the window held a small flowing river with some trees and other wild life to set the mood for a relaxing scene.
Just before I knew it, the door opened on my floor letting me get out. I walked out and to the door to my flat. Once I got there, I placed my thumb on the little pad above the key hole on my door. It gave a clicked, allowing me to enter my home.
My flat had three rooms, one of them with a master bathroom and one more bathroom. I also had a office a living room and obviously a kitchen with a dining and kitchen table. I went straight for my room as I ripped the wig off my head.
Thank god I could finally take that monstrosity off my head. As much as I love going under cover sometimes, the disguises are terrible.
I entered my room and started changing out of my clothes. Then, I walked into my decently sized walk in closet and grabbed a shirt, jeans and some combat boots for the remainder of the day. I also put away my contacts away and went the my kitchen to make dinner for myself after a long day of being the assassin I am.
Unknown Point of View
Today was stressful as hell. I don't understand how hard it is to follow simple rules especially from me. I am their boss so what would it take for me to enforce that? These people need to know that since I am their leader.
Their gang leader.
I am the leader of the strongest gang in California so when I give you simple directions to follow, I expect you to unless you want a permanent punishment from me.
You lose your damn life.
Now that is pretty much why I am feared but follow my orders and we are family. A big happy family.
But that's enough of my ranting for now. I was currently in my office at one of my warehouses doing paperwork when I got a call from an unknown number. I decided to not answer it since I was extremely busy. After the call went to my voicemail, a loud knock sounded on my office door.
I let out a sigh. Honestly, I didn't feel like dealing with anything right now but you can't relax all the time right?
"Come in," I ordered out to the door.
Behind the door, I see Bryce, my second in command, who walks in. "Alex there's something wrong with the main club," Bryce informed, sounding monotone but on the inside, I knew he was worried.
"What do you mean? Don't just leave me without the entire story. What are you holding back?" I hated when people never told me the entire story. It pisses me off like they want to hold something back from me by not saying everything.
"Sorry, Ricky called me and said that the club went up in flames from two explosives. Some of our people are injured but only two died from the explosion. We don't know who planted the explosives yet but we are figuring that out." My precious club went up in flames? That was our money maker! When I find out who set the bombs, I will make sure to give them the most painful death possible. Nobody touches what is mine.
My face was grim. I only gave Bryce a nod from my rigid posture as he knew what to do also. I walked out of my office with Bryce following me to the car. We exited the warehouse and went straight to the one of my black SUVs. After that, we headed to the burnt down club.
************
We arrived at the once thriving club that I cherished dearly. I got out of the SUV, and headed straight for the entrance. There were firefighters putting out the fires from inside the club and a few outside. One of the firefighters noticed that I was walking towards the building and rapidly approached me.
"Excuse me sir but you can't-" The firefighter protested but I cut him off.
"This is my club. I am the owner now I get to walk into my damn club even if it was being shot at. Am I clear?" I snapped back. The poor man's face paled a little at my outburst but to the hell with it. He looked to be about early thirties from some of the forehead lines but I obviously didn't care. I'm twenty-eight and I don't follow orders from another person regardless if they're older than me.
"I'm s-sorry Mr. White but your club is still on fire in some areas. We found traces of explosives inside. It is the r-reason for it burning. Do you want us to contact the p-police about this?" The firefighter stuttered.
The last thing I needed was some cops on my ass. I already have to stay hidden since I'm a gang leader so I didn't want more issues in my life. "No, I just remembered I left some of the chemicals in the back for a scientist I know of." What the hell? A scientist is all you could've come up with. Oh well you already said something, might as well make do with it now.
"Are you sure sure? These explosives look illegal-" He gave me a questioning look. This man was starting to piss me off.
"Do I really need to repeat myself. I already said I didn't want to get the police involved. I can get you the records of the scientist if you think I'm being attacked. I already said I had chemicals so stop asking me." I snapped once again. He was getting nosy and it was starting to piss me off.
"Y-yes sir Mr. White." He stuttered then walked away.
If he didn't walk away, I probably would've slit his throat by now with my dull key. My deadly threats were interrupted when my phone made a buzz in my pocket.
I looked at the lock screen and saw a voicemail from the same unknown number. Since I wasn't able to answer the call, I hit play and listened to the message.
"Hi Mr. White I just called to let you know that your precious club is about to be up in flames along with some casualties. We gave you years to give us our money back. Now you must pay up. Take this as a beginning of your grace period. You have one hundred and twenty hours starting now to give us the two million or I will gladly come after you. Have a nice day," concluded the feminine voice from the voice mail.
I threw my phone at the brick wall which caused it to shatters into pieces.
Jonathan Reynolds is going to die.
Who's Jonathan Reynolds?
I know this chapter was long. Honestly it was a filler chapter until the Point of View changed so sorry if it was boring at first.Let me know if you liked it by commenting or voting
