Bryce finally showed up after and hour of trying to get a hold of him. I was a little pissed when my car wouldn't start and the fact that he took his sweet ass time didn't make my mood any better.
"Why the hell did it take you forever to get your ass up here and help me jump start my car?" I ask slightly irritated with the entire situation.
"Sorry man, I had things to do but at least I showed up." He casually responded. Normally if this had been another person, I would've snapped about him talking back but he was practically my brother so I was used to his playful behavior.
Scarlet or Diana had been inside trying to pass time while I handled my now, least favorite car. Our date had been going well after that small episode the both of us shared. We settled our differences and handled some parts of the truth. After that, we just sat there on the hood of the car, holding hands and watching the sky. Eventually we left and that brings us to here.
After some frustrating failed attempts, we finally manage to get to battery to come to life. I was inside my car, with the door closed while Bryce was outside, messing with the jumper cables when we both heard a series of gun shots go off from inside the store. We both make eye contact through the wind shield, with an alarmed look splattered onto both of our faces and rush into the Mini-Mart with our pistols. Cautiously making our way to the entrance door, one last final gun shot is heard before entering the store.
Bryce trailed behind me as I lead the both us in the front. As soon as we both entered, I noticed that at the cash register, the employee had been lying on the floor in a pool of blood. He was obviously killed by someone in the store which made me worry about her. The woman my heart had been pounding for since I met her. It was still silence in the store. If it were not for my foot steps hitting the tiled floor in a fast paced rhythm, it would dead silent and very eerie as we tried to seek for her. Aisle after aisle, we couldn't seem to find her until we reached the last one.
Turning the corner, we find a blond haired corpse lying down on the floor, clearly shot in the skull with some blood seeping out of his head and his cold blue eyes wide opened. Across from him, is a weeping woman with hair redder than the blood coming from the now dead man. She was sitting down on the floor, with her head down and a gun in her hand. We were both behind her so she didn't see us but the only things we could make out from her was her back. A split second later, the truth hits me in face when I realize it's Scarlet.
"Please forgive me." She mumbles while quietly crying. Her back then started to shake uncontrollably.
"Scarlet?" I softly ask, dripping with concern all over it. Her head snaps up but doesn't turn around. I take that as my cue to walk over there to her and crouch down to her level while taking in her facial appearance.
Streaks of black mascara trailed down her face and her eyes were red and puffy from crying. Her once alive and energized aura was replaced with a more dead and broken one. The white blouse she was wearing was in wrinkles as if she had been in a fight and her hair had fallen strands coming out of the braid she had it in.
Her tear filled eyes looked up at me in sadness and despair and her lip trembled while she struggled to stop the endless flow of tears from her eyes.
"Xander." She softly says, the new nickname rolling off her tongue and through her lips. Wrapping my arms around her in comfort, she cries in my arms for an unknown reason. Bryce was next to the both of us at the moment, trying to clean up the mess that was made here.
"He was my brother, and I killed him." Scarlet quivers, making her back shake even more in my comforting arms.
"It's going to be okay." I comforted while trying to calm her down. Bryce started handling the dead body while I handled Scarlet.
I just wish I knew her better to wear I can help her, but how when she is keeping me out?
Hey what's going on? I'm sorry if the chapter seems really short but I've been extremely busy lately and school has all of the sudden thrown all crap at me but I'm okay lol. I've managed to get a chapter going so I've fulfilled my need to publish-ish. Anyways, there will be more where that came from :)
How was it?
