I can only lie here as my hopes begin to wither away. Will I ever see her again? Will we ever gaze into each others' eyes again? Small conversations do no good (not a lot at least). I don't know what to do while I wait for her arri- "What is that eerie noise?" I asked aloud, speaking only with myself with no one to hear. An eerie screech began to fade into existence, and my room's ceiling began to warp and give me epilepsy. I thought it was going to collapse on me, until I felt a freight train force slam my back to the ground.
I had to push whatever hit me off, and when I did, I saw it was a girl, white in skin and blue, glittering eyes, designed to charm. Once I got her off me and lied her down, I saw her deep, crimson tears and wounds and knew she wasn't okay. I immediately retrieved gauze and gauze tape to cover up the wounds. Wait. Is she even alive!? I checked her pulse and sighed. Okay, she is. She isn't breathing though. Oh boy, I can't believe I'm about to kiss my best friend awake! I began to breath into her.
"No, no, no!!!" I shouted at midnight. "This is NOT how I will lose her!" I tried once more, and it worked! Well, she began to breath at least. I've been up for a long time, so I need to get some sleep now. I carried her in my arms and lay her in my bed. I was too tired to fetch a sleeping bag.
"Ow. That's more painful than I thought," I said as I woke up on the ground. It was quite surprising she woke up seconds after I did.
"Oh. Ow! Ow! That hurts!" she yelped as she tried to sit up.
"No, please lie back down," I said.
"Wai- what!? Where am I?"
"You're in my room in Souderton."
"Oh no. What happened to him? He's gone."
"What on Earth happened to you, Sara?" She sat up, slowly raised her hands to her head, looked at me, and meticulously pulled her hood off. I sat beside her, concerned.
Sara's POV
"I was at a graduation party (coming out of seventh grade) when my dad came to pick me up. It was so weird. It's like he suddenly started not liking me when I got in the vehicle"
'Sneaking out of the house again?" he asked with demand.
'What do you mean?' I asked him, 'Mom took me here. Do you not remember?'
'Silence!' he yelled. I didn't say anything else until it suddenly started raining. We were headed up a hill - and into trouble-"
"Oh boy," Albert interrupted.
"When we got to the top, it started pouring harder than before.
'Uh, dad-'
'No talking!' He turned on his windshield wipers only to see a faint black figure." I didn't know if I could have told what came next.
"I-"
"No! I still have to finish," I said, trying not to cry. I began to stutter and shutter at even thinking about what happened after. "The figure thrust a blade into the driver and used a knife to slice me open. Just as he was about to finish me, everything started shape-shifting and color changing, and I started falling into eternal darkness." I finally gave in. It was too much to bear. At least I had a shoulder to lean on.
Albert's Pov
"I'm very sorry you had to endure all that pain," I said trying to console her. As she wept upon my shoulder, I woke my phone only to realize that the same thing may have happened to my entire family. "Oh no."
"What?" she asked still sobbing, "What could possibly go wrong now?"
"I'm supposed to be downstairs right now, yet no one has called me out on it." She composed herself enough to say, "Oh dear." We both slowly and meticulously walked down the hall, down the stairs, and to the door. I grasped the doorknob and suddenly felt insane power flowing through my veins. I immediately retreated my hand. "You have to open the door sooner or later," she said. I hesitantly grabbed the door knob and opened the door. It was silent except for what noises we made.
"I don't like this one bit," I said confidently yet fearful within. I looked left and right to find no- "What is that?" I said when I saw the door to my right. Sara and I looked and saw- "No. No. that had better not be what I think it is."
"What do you think it is?" she asked. I said nothing and did everything. Instead of speaking to her, I opened the door, and it was true.
"That's a bit violent, don't you think?" I asked her as we stared at the room. The carpet had stains in it, the walls were covered in red instead of blue, and the ceiling and fan were both red instead of white.
"Oh gosh. Oh gosh no. That did not just happen when I wasn't watching." I couldn't get over the fact my... four siblings?
"AND of course there's more. Down the hall." We both ran down the hall to the farthest bedroom to find more red and more deep gashes in the throat. "Okay. There's STILL more. Last bedroom." We walked to the left bedroom to find three more bodies and another red room. Two bodies were bigger than the third with their throats slit open. The third, however, was the youngest and smallest of them all. His head was entirely off his collar bone, causing the most blood of all."Okay. Okay. I'm freaked out. I've never been more paranoid in my life. That's how scared I am. I don't know if I'll get enough sleep." I couldn't stop talking for life. I mean, lives had already been taken, so it didn't matter. I finally just went downstairs, sat on the couch, and started weeping. I could not comprehend what had just happened to me. I couldn't clear my head until about 10 in the night.
"I am truly sorry you had to endure all that pain," she said trying to console me.
"Thank you for being there when we needed it most," I replied, "Now, I'll be right back. You sit tight." I walked upstairs to find my parents' bedroom door open with ... nothing??? Where had the bodies disappeared to? I walked back downstairs.
"The bodies aren't there anymore, so I guess we should get some sleep. You can be in my parents' bed, and I'll be in my room."
"Wait, are you sure you want to do this? Are you sure you'll be alright?" It took me a minute to respond.
"I have faith. I have courage nothing bad will happen to US."
"Okay," Sara said hesitantly, "If you need anything, you know where I am." With that, we both retreated to our rooms and rested all the deaths of that day behind us.
It was barely shining on the surface of the Earth when I awoke. it appeared so beautiful, just like my best friend. I spun myself around and- "What is this?" I asked aloud.
