Everyone, once freed, asked who Midna was (imaginable), and I told them. They all gave their warm, welcoming greetings to her. After that I spoke up:
"I know she is new to us, but we still need to leave this place."
"I don't know where to go other than down," Zelda said.
"Maybe I can melt the ceiling above us, and we could fly out," said Aalish.
"Your magic can reach that high up?" I asked.
"Oh... never mind."
"Why don't you ask the goddesses what to do?" Abelia asked.
"They have been captured and cannot instruct me." I watched as horror overtook them. "Hope has not been lost, though, because we have all survived.."
"What do we do then?" asked Agnimitra. I suddenly snapped into a copy of the room I was in before, and I started moving. I couldn't control it. I was headed back down the stairs and to the point I entered. Once I got to where I entered and looked behind me, I saw him and faded back to the current situation.
"We go up and escape that way," I replied confidently.
"Don't you think this may be bait?" Tien asked.
"In my vision, I tried going down and to the beginning point, and once I turned around, I saw him standing there, an evil smirk on his face. Even if it is bait, I'm not alone. Will you trust me and follow me all the way?" Everyone had to glance at each other before nodding in agreement. With that, I lead them upwards toward victory, many bokoblins and obstacles in the way.
After climbing many stairs, slaying many enemy troops (their blood spilled upon us), and overcoming many obstacles, we finally made it to the top. The hall with the shining light of this world gave me hope, and it filled me with determination. I lead my allies through the hall and out... to... Wait, this can't be right, I thought to myself.
Once we got to the end of the hall, we found the source of the light, sitting on a piece of wood, the wood sitting in a torch holder. We walked around the room, staying as a group (I lead in front, however). The pictures on the walls and ceilings, I felt, were trying to tell us a story we hadn't been told.
"Everyone," I whispered, the walls responding, "I believe these hieroglyphics want to tell us something." We all began to look, then a voice which echoed spoke:
"Once, there was a boy around your age who became a great champion of heroes. At birth, the boy's name was Link Ashdown Hyrule, born because of Aeschylus Andreas Hyrule and Servilia Albia Katsaros. Servilia had you in her womb, but Aeschylus panicked and ran from both of you. She was desperate for help, so she searched all over Hyrule for another man to be his father. She was due in only one week before a man accidentally ran into her and knocked her down, sending her into much pain. He helped her up and began to talk with her. During that conversation, he eventually asked if she was single. She told him what happened, and he replied by asking to be the father of that child. Six days later, Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule took her hand in marriage, and the day after, she went into labor. She managed to give birth to him but couldn't make it long enough to watch him grow up to be the young man she had always dreamed of giving birth to, for she died three days later. Time passed on, the boy became your age, and by then, he had been dreaming of joining the Royal Guard."
"I didn't know what he was doing to get there, but I was under arrest in Hyrule for the grand theft of the Hylian Army's blades. Even though I stole, I hadn't a clue if I should or shouldn't have stolen what I did. My father would always tell me to "use their own weapons to kill them to make it appear as if someone in their army had committed the crime", and my friends (including that boy) would tell me not to, even if my father killed me for not doing it. The thought of my own father killing me was outrageous to me, but since he always turned against the government, I knew he would if I didn't do what he said. Once the time had come, I was inside the castle walls, dressed as a guard. I made it through the building and followed the plan, and in no time, I was at the weapons storage."
"I took the key out of my pocket, opened the wardrobe, and removed as many swords as I could. The moment I touched them, though, I remembered what that boy with the dark history had told me, and it influenced me. In that moment, I dropped the blades on the ground to attract attention. A few guards came to check in on me. I told them who I was and what I was meant to do. They asked me to tell them about the plan, but I insisted on taking my punishment for the theft first. They arrested me, and I told them my father's plans as they walked me to the prison cells. They told me it would be my home for only a week, and then I was free. On my way to jail, I saw an abnormally large insect flying toward me. Once it got to me, it forced its way through my nostrils and into my mind. I suddenly felt rage flowing through me, and I started fighting the guards."
"More of them tried to stop me, but they could only hold me back for so long. That is when my best friend arrived at the scene. I couldn't believe he made it to the Royal Guard at such a young age. He calmly tried to tell me to "stop this madness", but I didn't listen. I attacked him, and he fought back. I could tell he only wanted me unconscious, for even with his blade unsheathed, he only fought with his hands, continuing to tell me to stop. Eventually, he knocked me to the ground, but he let his sword slice through my neck, the blood pouring everywhere. Even though I was dead, though, my spirit was and is preserved." There was a short pause in his speech, and I was already in tears and shock, more so than ever before. "Remember this very story next time you hear someone call you a bastard, Link Ashdown Hyrule!"
A/N - Never use the word "bastard" in real life against anyone. I used the word according to its dictionary definition, not as a curse word (its a BAD curse word and the only time I will ever use it in my writing).
