The room I walked into was unlike any of the others I had seen. It was endless. It even had a... water floor? It also had a palm tree in the middle. I walked into the room first.
"Link!" Zelda shouted. I turned around to see her pushing against nothing.
"This room must be a magical room only I can enter. I'll be alright on my own." I turned back around and noticed a door I could walk out of. As soon as I arrived at the door, though, bars immediately shot down and locked the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" a dark voice said. I turned around to be looking at (at least) twenty- no twenty-one dark versions of me. Suddenly, i was snapped into the Goddess Room. Instead of the usual green flames I saw blue flames. Then, from the distance, I could see another goddess.
"I am the Goddess Nayru," she said, "You must listen, my chosen one. Dark Link has made several versions of himself. After you defeat one, the rest become stronger. Once you defeat all but one (which will be the original), he will finally start to speak and try to infuriate you. Do not fall for his schemes. Ignore what he has to say, and you will survive." She faded away, and I snapped back into the water room, the several Dark Links in front of me.
I stabbed the first one straight through his heart, squirting the same black blood from the skeletons all over. Once it touched the water, it merely sank to the bottom. I got a little bit on me, but I didn't worry much. I sliced across another Dark Link's chest, sending even more black blood all over. I noticed that my sword had some on it, so I tried sticking it in the water floor. The blood sank to the bottom of the water floor, and the Master Sword seemed to shine a little brighter. Now there were seventeen left. Sixteen. Fifteen. Fourteen. All the way down to two is when it became a challenge to fight. Now, instead of only swordsmanship and martial arts, they sunk into the ground, appearing behind me when they arose. They also fought a lot smarter and harder. I eventually decapitated one of them, the black liquid flying onto me. I suddenly felt something strange, something I didn't want to feel.
"How about we talk with words?" Dark Link says in a deep, dark voice, his eyes now literally a fiery red. I hesitated for a minute.
"Paige, do you know what this substance all over me is?" I asked. I had to wait a minute. As I waited, I looked through the floor and saw it was now black instead of clear. I felt like something was changing within me.
"It is the blood of the evil you," Paige says, "It has the ability to change how your mind works." This alone scared me, and as I was afraid, I felt even more change happening within me. Now, I felt something I hadn't felt since I began the quest: rage. I then remembered what Nayru said and tried to calm down. It didn't help a whole lot.
"You want to learn something interesting about us?" Dark Link asked me, "We are the same exact person." This made my rage a lot worse.
"No, no, you're not me."
"I know it's hard to believe, but it is true. There's nothing you can do about it."
"I have the assistance of the Goddesses alongside me! I cannot be like you."
"Knowing this, you are able to kill me very easily." I was about ready to kill him right there on the spot, but I still listened to Nayru's wisdom.
"Don't tempt me!"
"I feel badly about what happened to your family," Dark Link said, sarcasm taking over, "After all, I tried to prevent it from happening."
"No, you didn't! You were the one who killed them."
"That's right. Man! You are such a smart pupil to be in my class." That did me in. I felt change like never before as I attacked him with all my might. He tried to kick me, but I grabbed his leg and threw him into the tree in the middle of the room. The next thing I hear is bones breaking apart from each other and splitting into two. I could see his rib cage with a lot of black blood. I could even see his black heart inside of him, sitting there, motionless. I immediately regretted what I had just done - more like why I had just done it. I was starting to grow insane, so I looked at the water floor. I could tell my vision started to weaken. Even with all the black, I saw burning red eyes staring back at me.
I tried to calm down, but doing that caused me incredible amounts of pain as the fire in my eyes caused them to bleed. My vision only became worse. Every drop of blood changed from red to gradually darker colors. I used all the energy I had in me to try to calm down when suddenly I felt another change. I fell to the ground in pain, still bleeding from my burning eyes, but as the blood fell to the water, it became a brighter color, and the darkness from below started to recede. The downfall about that was I started losing more blood than I was before. I kept at doing what I was doing, and eventually the evil from within was eliminated. My vision was starting to return to normal, but I had to close my eyes for a few seconds before I could look. When I looked at the floor, I saw blue eyes that appeared as if they stared at the sun for far too long. I closed my eyes, but I didn't sleep. I heard the gates of the one door receding, and I heard footsteps. Pitter. Patter. Pitter. Patter. Every step became louder.
"Link," I heard a girl shout, "LINK!"
"I am alive," I responded, my voice raspy, "I am not in the best of conditions, but I am alive." I opened my eyes, and everything was crystal clear. I stood up, a bit wobbly, and I walked towards the unlocked door. "Come on, Emma Rose." I walked toward the door, determined to make it there. Step. Step. Step. I managed to touch the door before... falling... into...
