I looked carefully at what was right in front of me and blinked to make sure I wasn't having a hallucination. It was clothing. An elf cap, a green, leather tunic, a pair of khaki pants, and boots. There was also a note on top of it all. I picked up the note and read it:
Dear Hero of Life,
I have finally found you. The man who hath been provided with a journey to complete. After searching for hours and hours, I have located you and left this note. I noticed a parasite descending upon the planet that we Goddesses have so lovingly created. We will assist you in your battle against it, and it may be that you will meet us when all is finished.
Now step forth towards victory.
Sincerely,
Farore
"No. No! No! No! I- I can't do this. I'm not prepared at all for this. I'm not even worthy." I was instantly (yet not) blinded by the light that engulfed me.
"Yes, you are. You can do this. You are prepared because you are the chosen one," a strange voice in the silence echoed. I suddenly faded back to my room. I was hesitant, but I eventually convinced myself to do it. I took the clothing and boots, put them on, walked down the hall, down the stairs, and opened the door. I only took one step into hall when I saw my best friend wearing a beautiful purple and white dress.
"Whoa," we both gasped simultaneously. We stared at each other for a minute.
"How did you-" Sara asked.
"End up dressed like I am? Well, I woke up to clothing in my face with a note on top summoning me to an important task."
"Me too." We both knew what the task was. We immediately walked downstairs. The same thing that happened in my room happened again, the ethereal voice calling to me.
"Step towards the light from behind," it said, then everything faded into being.
"Back field, Sara." We both headed out the back door. As soon as we opened the door, we knew who stood in my field. We rushed down the stairs, through the bushes, and across the yard.
"Hi Lily," I said to her.
"My name has been changed to General Impa," she responded.
"Why?" Sara asked.
"You don't know the Legend, Princess Zelda?" Impa said.
"Yep, it's just as I thought," I said, "What's the Legend this time?"
"Have a seat, and I shall tell you the story." We all sat down and waited.
"Once there were three Goddesses: Din, Farore, and Nayru. Din, the Goddess of Power and Fire, created the very rock in which we stand upon. Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom and Water, poured her spirit upon the Earth and gave the Spirit of Law to the world. Farore, the Goddess of Courage and Life, used her rich soul to create the life-forms that would uphold the law. Din wanted to stay forever, but the other two would not let her. They all ascended and left the planet. The place where they left is the resting place of the Triforce, the Sacred Realm. They would never have returned had there not been a parasite flying straight towards Earth. That parasite started prying its way into the minds of life-forms made on Earth. It consumed every single body and grew stronger in the process. After a few hours, Farore and Nayru realized it was Din whom sent the parasite. They were able to conceal her in another universe, but they knew it wouldn't hold her forever. Nayru immediately set to work forging a weapon more potent than both the parasite and Din herself. Now, the weapon is forged and needs to be placed on the Earth. She will place it as close to you as possible, but the only person worthy enough to wield the blade is you, Link," she said looking at me, "Farore and Nayru will assist you to the best of their abilities. As a partial solution, they have made their own parasites.Of course they're inside your heads growing, but they're not taking anything from you." There was a moment of silence after she completed the task of transferring the Legend to us.
"Okay," I said, "That was a lot to listen to, so I'll need time to comprehend what has happened to me and the Legend."
"For someone whom has just now lost his entire family, you seem rather calm."
"I'm just trying not to think about it," I replied to Impa. "Princess, a word please." I slightly tugged on her arm as we walked out of the field and into the back yard. "I think we need to train in the ways of the sword."
"What? Why?" Sara (I didn't want to think of her as Princess Zelda yet) asked.
"General Impa said Farore made a BLADE. Blades can be forged. This is basically the Sword in the Stone." There was a moment of silence. "It's all becoming real."
"Alright," she said. We walked back to General Impa, who was waiting where we had left her
"When will we start training?"
"Whenever you are ready," Impa replied. Sara and I glanced at each other in agreement.
"Can we start today?" the Princess asked.
"Sure," said Impa with a smile
