I woke up in the same room I was recently in, but I was at the door I entered from. The entire room looked a lot wavier than before.
"What? How am I still in this room?" I asked as the room gave my words back to me. Suddenly, the green and blue flames of Farore and Nayru shone brighter than ever before as I looked at the tree branches.
"You are finally the one," a voice said (I couldn't identify which Goddess spoke), "the one to break the cycle of eternity."
"Which one of you is speaking, oh Goddesses of Courage and Wisdom, Life and Water?" I asked.
"The Goddess of Courage is speaking to you," Farore said.
"Now the Goddess of Wisdom is speaking to you," Nayru said. I now had the two voices identified. "I am very surprised at how far you have come in your journey and in the fact you have survived the battle against your dark self."
"I survived? I got to the other door, sure, but I fainted at the door."
"You survived," Farore said, "because even with the pain it brought, you fought his blood out of your system."
"I have many questions running through my head with that being said, and I hope I can find answers to a few at least."
"Ask us," Nayru said.
"Have there been twenty-one me's who tried to complete this same quest yet failed?" The goddesses had to confer with each other before they answered.
"The answer to that question shall come in due time." I had to pause for a moment before I spoke again.
"Why am I back in this room?"
"Unsheathe the Master Sword." I pulled the Master Sword out to find it was not glowing like it was before.
"Is this because of me fighting Dark Me's blood out of my heart?"
"Yes," Farore said, "it is, but there is a way to bring it back."
"Please, oh goddesses, how do I bring the power back to the sword?" I asked.
"You must fight your dark self again, but this time there will only be one. Run for the door on the other side, and he shall appear from behind," Farore said. The lights of the goddesses now soared through the ceiling, vanishing with no trace. The door was all the way over there, so off I went. Pitter. Patter. Pitter. Patter. Pitter. Patter. These are the very sounds that were reflected and redelivered to me as I stopped at the door and turned around. He was there.
Clank. Clank. Clank. Punch. Kick. Clank. Kick. Punch. These are the sounds that filled the room for a long time. I was worn out, but I still had determination within me. Dark Link was leaning forward by the tree, crouching in exhaustion. I walked carefully to him, step by step. Crunch! He sent his right fist into my face as I sliced the tree with one swing (it took away my swing at Dark Me, though). I didn't know he was so strong he could send me across the other room and into the other wall, but now I knew. I dropped to the ground. I felt a small change in me, so I tried to fight that.
"How about we talk with words?" I remained silent, fighting what was hiding in me. " You want to learn something interesting about us? We are the same exact person." A pause surrounded the room for a few seconds. " I know it's hard to believe, but it is true. There's nothing you can do about it." I was now starting to fight harder against what was in me, and Dark Link saw it and laughed at it. "It's pathetic how you think you can fight the bug that won't leave. Let me help you with words of encouragement." He was a bit sarcastic now, and I started shaking to fight the bug even harder. "I feel badly about what happened to your family- wait, am I saying that correctly?" I fought even harder against the bug within me, shaking violently around now. "I love how you're handling my sarcasm. After all, I am pretty good at it, being born with it." I started to back off against the bug in me. "What's that? You want to know the truth about your family? I am the truth about your family." I started to shake even more as I fought the bug harder than ever before. After a good deal of shaking, I stood, my reflection representing me.
"Are you done talking yet?" I asked, "Wait a minute, I thought sarcasm was your thing. Huh." He looked at me, obviously surprised by how I survived his bug. "Oh, I'm sorry for taking your sarcasm away from you. I won't do it again." Saying this made him charge at me, his sword ready to shoot through me. All I did was spin-dodge and pierce his heart from behind. Once he finally fell to the ground, I removed my sword from his backbone. The moment I removed my sword from Dark Me was the moment it shone brightest, brighter than it ever had. Farore came back to the top of the tree and spoke.
"This was a do-over for you. The real you is asleep and shall awake with his friends at his side, wondering when he shall awaken. They need you, you know." With that, I started to feel... sleepy... goodnight dream... hope to... complete...
