Authors Note:
This is the first story I have ever completed, it's just a short piece that I wrote about two years ago. The only reason I ever start or finish a story is because I dream about it. So this was my inspiration for this, however at the same time I was struggling a bit so I needed a bit of inspiration myself. This makes me remember that there are people out there that are struggling harder, are worse off, yet everyday they get out of bed and keep trying!
Please Enjoy. And constructive criticism is always welcome.

=============================================================================
He was said to be cursed, a demon who only brought evil to those around him, an omen of death in human form.
Misunderstood, hanging with the wrong crowd, no parents or loved ones to keep him on the right track, that was what I saw whenever Daniel Soller walked past me at school.
He was an orphan, being sent to home after home until he had turned eighteen, then he had moved back to his parent's home town, his own birthplace in fact and he had lived there for the last ten months. He had attended my school for a short time as well, falling in with the seniors who drank, smoked, did drugs and were failing school. One of them had died of alcohol poisoning three weeks after Daniel had come to Denton. Two months later, another had died of an overdose of meth, and just the other week, four of them had been in a major car accident leaving two dead, one in a coma and the other losing his leg because the damage had been too severe to repair.
None of these were Daniel's fault, but the people of Denton seemed to be extremely superstitious and just plain stupid. I hadn't seen Daniel in almost two weeks; he hadn't even shown up to school.
I ached to see his green eyes look at me as we passed through the hallway to classes, his black hair partially hiding the left one.
I sighed and tried to stop thinking, I hated being me to be honest, I had no admiring features, not like Stacey Brown and her big breasts and perfect teeth, or Amanda's athletic body, or Maria's nice car and rich parents.
I was just plain old Elliana Risbly, long, plain dark brown hair, pale blue eyes with long lashes that were black to the point that I didn't even need to wear makeup. I was scrawny as well, skin and bones more or less, not like Daniel; he was extremely tall and muscled, not at all plain. We were two different people, living in two completely different worlds, but a girl could wish.
I still fit into children's clothing and a B cup because I was so under developed. At the age of seventeen and eleven months, I had never dated, didn't have any friends and was close to becoming the dux of the senior year level, maybe even the highest scoring student to ever study at Denton, further cementing the belief that I would never be with anyone like Daniel Soller.
I don't know why I had been thinking about Daniel, I did that sometimes, just randomly zoned out and started to think about him. I was such a pathetic high school senior. I attended school only because I wanted to and against my parent's wishes, my step father was quite abusive, verbally mostly, but sometimes he would hit me and mum when he got drunk. Mum didn't seem to mind, she just made excuses for him like; "He's just dealing with a lot at the moment," or the classic, "He doesn't mean to."
It makes me angry sometimes, but it also makes me work even harder at school because I don't want to be like either of them.
Being almost the end of the school year, I was sitting out in the sun writing my maths exam notes when a shadow fell across my page.
