Nicole's P.O.V.
VidCon 2016 is in a week. So what do I need to do?
Pack.
I hate packing with a burning passion. I always end up forgetting something. But I paid attention and thankfully, I don't think I forgot anything. My flight from London to Los Angeles is today, June 16, 2016. It's now almost 1:00pm. It will last a really long time...
Kill me. Please. I hate long plane rides. But I'm doing this because I love going to VidCon. I've gone every year since 2013.
I'm waiting in the airport with my best friends, Ashley and Louise, at my gate.
"Nicole, you okay? You seem kinda nervous," Ashley says, grabbing my shoulder.
"Guys, what if something embarrassing happens this year? Remember the dress incident?" I whisper, hoping no one would hear me.
"Yes I remember that, but hopefully nothing will happen this year," Louise says in a calm tone.
"Yeah, especially in front of Daaaannnieeelll," Ashley mocks. I playfully hit her shoulder.
"Shut up!" I whisper-yell.
"What's going on here?" I hear a voice from behind me ask. Wait. Oh shit. Is that— no it can't be. Fuck no.
"Nothing, Phil. We were just talking about something," Ashley says.
Shit! Is Dan behind me too??? I'm fucked.
"You sure about that?" I hear another voice ask. Are you fucking kidding me?? It is Dan! At this very moment I want the ground to swallow me whole. He heard Ashley say his name like that.
"Oh... uh. Hey guys!" I say nervously to Dan and Phil.
"Hi Nicole!" they both say in unison. Holy shit the sound of their voices together is so hot— I mean... what?
I pause for a second, searching my brain for what I should say next. "You guys are on the same plane? That's awesome!" I say, surprisingly without stuttering.
"Yeah. Glad to see you here." Dan says. I feel blood rush to my cheeks, and before I know it I'm as red as a fucking tomato. "You okay? You look like you're gonna be sick," Dan says, worried about my appearance.
"Y-yeah I'll be fine," I say. All of a sudden, I hear that our flight is about to board. I get in line. What a surprise, Dan is right in front of me. Ashley and Louise are behind me. So I felt like I was on my own with this one.
"So Dan, how have you been?" I ask.
"Good, you?" He says back.
"I've been fine. Just still trying to recover from last year's VidCon."
"Oh I totally forgot about that!" he exclaims.
"Yeah it was so embarrassing. Everyone saw my... lower half," I say quietly.
"Hey, luckily you had underwear on," he says, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"True. By the way I really love your videos. I relate to you so much."
"Thanks! I love yours too. You're hilarious!" He says. I try my best to not blush, but it's too late. I can't control myself anymore.
"Wow, I never thought I would hear you say that to me. Honestly," I say.
"Well, you just heard it right now." He smiles and I swear to god. It was the cutest smile I've ever seen. His dimples, his lips, just everything about it made me feel something that I can't describe in words. I look straight at him and smile back at him. I don't have to go on my tip toes just to see him, as I'm pretty much a giant. I'm 6'0". Yeah, I know. It's ridiculous.
"Wanna sit next to each other? You can bring Phil too," I say to him. The airline we're traveling in allows you to sit anywhere you want. I heard Ashley whisper-yell "YES!" from behind me.
"Of course! I'd love to," he replies. I smile.
"What'd you say?" I ask, since I heard him mumble something.
"Never mind..." he says.
