Chapter 15 - Just a dream
Darkness.
That's all I can see right now. Darkness.
I'm walking through the woods and I have no idea where I'm going. Maybe right? Or left? Or maybe I'm even going around in circles.
My foot got caught on something and I fell face first to the ground. I let out a little squeal of surprise and I stuck my hands out to try and not fall on my face, but it was too late. I hit my face on the edge of a tree and my face scratched against the bark of the tree.
I brought my hand up to my face and winced when I felt the blood. I got up and started walking again.
Where am I?
This has been my unanswered question for about three hours now. My phone died long time ago, and there wasn't a trace of anybody.
I heard a snap from behind me. I stopped in my tracks, but I didn't hear anything else. No footsteps, or breathing. I continued on with my walk.
I heard someone walking behind me. Their footsteps were silent, but I could still hear them. I stopped again and they also stopped behind me. I started to feel uneasy. Someone was following me and I know I wouldn't be able to fight them. I didn't have a gun, or knife and I was way to tired to even try to throw a punch.
All in all, I was literally dead.
I turned around but I didn't see anyone. All I saw was complete darkness. The darkness was so thick, I could cut it with a knife. I heard another branch snap from behind me and I whirled around in that direction.
My breathing started to get uneven and I started to feel dizzy. I started to walk again and whoever was with me started to follow me again. I picked up my pace and they picked up their pace too.
You know what? I thought. Fuck this.
I started to run and they started to run too. My breathing was even more uneven and the uneasy feeling in my stomach never left.
I tripped over something again and fell to the floor, but without scraping my face on a tree this time. I rolled over on my back and through the darkness, I was surprised that I could see a shadow looming over me.
They started to lean toward me and when our faces were centimeters apart, they smiled.
"I finally got you Hannah."
That voice. I would know that voice anywhere!
"Daniel?" I asked shakily.
"In the flesh sweetheart."
He lifted up something and I knew that it was a knife. I knew I was going to die and there was nothing I could do about it. Absolutely nothing.
Right before he was going to drive the knife through my heart and give me the same treatment as my parents, a voice called out from the distance.
"Hannah! Hannah where are you? Hannah! Wake up Hannah! Hannah! HANNAH!"
I felt myself starting to shake and it terrified me to no end. I looked up at Daniel and I saw that he had a look of fury on his face.
"Daniel? Wh-what's going on?" I asked, fear seeping in my voice.
He glared at me and turned around. "Just remember. This isn't over."
