Chapter 30 - Finally Home

There was the longest silence ever and I was starting to get frustrated with his lack of response. "I'm waiting." I said impatiently, raising an eyebrow.

I could see him gulp and it only confirmed my suspicions. He was hiding something. He was somehow related with The Slayers.

He walked up to me and I wanted to take a step back, but I held my ground. He stopped when his toes hit mine and I could smell this woodsy scent. I almost lost it and pulled him closer to me, but I fought the urge. Instead, I crinkled my eyebrows together when I saw him leaning closer. I thought he was going to kiss me because his eyes were trained on my lips, but at the last second, he turned his head to the side and placed his lips near my ear.

"Can we talk about this later?" He whispered.

My knees buckled and I could feel his hot, minty breath fan over the side of my face. My lips parted and I nodded slowly. My mind was getting clouded and I couldn't think properly. But he stepped back before I could make any rash decisions and he gave me a small, sad smile as if he knew something bad was about to happen. My mind started to clear up and I could think clearly now. I narrowed my eyes at him and leaned a little closer.

"You better not try to avoid me because if you do, there'll be hell to pay." I growled at him and turned around. I saw that everyone was still pressed against the wall, looking at me intently. They were watching every move I made and it was really starting to creep me out.

I ignored the stares and I started to gather up my weapons that I used to kill the guys. I walked over to the guy that I used my knife on, and I pulled it out of him. You could hear the sucking sound and I wanted to gag, but I held it in. Apparently Natalie couldn't hold it in though, because I heard her gagging from up ahead.

"Gross." Someone whispered.

I chuckled a little and couldn't help but agree with them. It was gross, but I got used to it. I guess I kind of have to because I do this everyday, or at least three times a week. I stood up and contemplated on whether I should clean it or just stuff it in my bag. I shrugged and headed over to the bathroom to clean it off, everyone making a path for me to cross. It's like they thought that if they touched me or got me mad, I'd kill them.

Trust me, that wouldn't happen.

I entered the restroom and I started to rinse the knife out of the blood. There were some parts that were dried up, but most of the blood washed out with the water. I poured some soap on it and I started to scrub it to get the dried parts off. I was humming a little tune and I turned the faucet off. I turned and went to the towel that was hanging up near the wall. I dried it off and headed out of the restroom.

I walked over to my seat and I saw my friends sitting there, not one of them saying a word. I sat down and faced them. "So... Anything that either of you guys want to say?" Brian sighed and shook his head. "No, it's just that we know you're an agent, but it's still weird seeing you fight people." He admitted, everyone nodding their agreement.

I shrugged and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, but I can't control where they appear." I said. Natalie opened her mouth and was about to answer, but a flight attendant came and stood in the middle of the aisle.

"Everyone, may I have your attention please!" She called. I looked up at her and so did everyone else. "We are about to land, but we need you all to sit in your seats now. I am sorry about the unfortunate occurrence that has happened a while ago, but I can assure you that it will not happen again." Everyone sighed in relief and started moving to their seats. I got up and passed over Natalie to my seat. I didn't even bother putting my seat belt on at this point. All I wanted right now was to get out of this airplane.
