10.Iris West x Reader

Summary: You and Barry have grown closer thanks to your accident. Iris doesn’t seem to love you hanging with Barry so much but not for the reason you think.

Caitlin and Cisco were going about their day when not even a nanosecond later you and Barry appeared next to them. Cisco jumped but Caitlin had managed to train herself not to. Barry put a hand on your back.

“(y/n) you’ve built up so much speed in such little time, you’re amazing,” he said with a giant smile on his face.

You smiled back. Barry’s praise only made you want to run faster.

“Thanks Barry, any day now I’ll be joining you and the team to catch the bad guys.”

Barry laughed and shook his head. “Iris would kill me if I let you on the team (y/n).”

You stopped smiling. “I’ll talk her into it,” you said and shoved your hands in the pockets of your running jacket.

Barry nodded. “If Iris won’t kill me then I couldn’t imagine a better partner,” he said and smiled again.

You couldn’t help but smile back and he threw his arms around you. You hugged him back. Barry was like your big brother. He was always around and after the accident that gave you super speed like Barry he was the only one who really understood you. Your phone started ringing in your pocket. When you pulled away and looked at it you saw Iris’s beautiful face flash on your screen.

“Oh shit.” You sighed and buried your face in your hands.

Barry put a hand on your shoulder.  “What’s up?”

You brought your hands down. “It’s Iris, I totally forgot we had brunch plans.”

Barry raised his eyebrows. “You better run and try to make it.”

You nodded. You turned to Cait and Cisco. “Bye guys, I’ll see ya later.”

“Bye,” they said in unison.

In the blink of an eye you were gone.

Two seconds later you showed up at the restaurant you and Iris were supposed to have brunch at. You looked around but she was gone.

“Shit,” you muttered.

You knew she was for sure going to be mad at you now. So before going over to her house you stopped by her favorite cupcake store and by the florist to pick up a nice bouquet. It was going to take more than flowers and cupcakes to make it up to her but you thought maybe she wouldn’t be quite as mad if you buttered her up a bit.

After you had the flowers and deserts you flashed over to Iris’s house. Before you knocked you gave yourself a quick once over.

“Ew,” you said with a grimace.

You definitely smelled and needed at the very least a change of clothes. You sighed and flashed to your place. It was a damn dirty mess but you quickly changed into clean clothes and doused yourself in perfume. Then you gave yourself another sniff.

“Better,” you said with a shrug.

Then you flashed back to Iris’s house. You took a deep breath and knocked. You heard footsteps then the door swung open.

A very displeased Iris West answered the door. She glowered at you.

“You missed brunch.” She crossed her arms against her chest. “Why?”

You stuck your hands out with the flowers in one hand and the cupcakes in the other. “Brought you your favorites,” you said with an apologetic smile.
