Caitlin tugged on the sleeve of your sweater

Caitlin tugged on the sleeve of your sweater. “Come on (y/n), a girls night out is exactly what you need.”

You shook your head. “Cait,  I just need to stay home and drink some tea.”

“Why so you can just wallow in sadness?” She said and crossed her arms.

“I’m over the break up Caitlin I just don’t feel like partying it up right now.”

Caitlin sighed. “It’s not healthy to keep yourself shut in. Blowing off some steam will be good for you, trust me.”

You looked at Caitlin. “Maybe you’re right.”

Caitlin smiled. “Of course I am. Be ready by 9, I’ll pick you up.”

You nodded and she went off to presumably tell Iris and Jessie. Cisco came up to your side. “Are you sure about going out? It’s okay if you need some more time before you get back out there again (y/n).”

You shook your head. “I’m fine Cisco. It’s been two months, it’s time.”

He nodded. “If you say so.”

Just as you were ready to text Caitlin to pick you up there was a knock at your door. When you opened it Iris was leaning against the wall.

She looked absolutely gorgeous.

“Ready to go?”  She asked with a smirk.

“I thought Cait was picking me up?”

You grabbed your bag beside the door and walked out. Iris stepped back to let you close the door.

“She was but I told her I wanted to pick you up. I wanted to talk just you and me for a bit.”

You finished locking your door then turned to Iris. “What do we have to talk about?” You were sure there was nothing wrong between the two of you. Actually you hadn’t really spoken the past two months. That was partly your fault because you pushed everyone away after your breakup but Iris had stayed away long after you’d made amends.

Iris bit her lip and was about to tell you but she shook her head. “We’ll talk in the car, come on.”

You followed Iris to her car, parked right next to the sidewalk in front of your house. She walked to the driver’s side while you sat down in the passenger’s.

She started the car and started to drive, still not telling you why she wanted to talk. You didn’t push it but after a few minutes your curiosity got the best of you.

“So are we gonna talk anytime soon..?”

Iris smiled. “Right…Sorry I’m just not sure how to tell you this.” She took a deep breath and tightened her hands on the wheel.

You were beginning to worry. “Iris whatever it is you can tell me,” you said reassuringly. Then you placed your hand on her thigh so she understood you were being serious. Which you guessed wasn’t how she took it because she quickly glanced at your hand on her thigh and stiffened. You removed your hand and creased your brows. “Iris what’s wrong?”
