____________

You were currently sitting in the cortex at a computer, typing away. Cisco sits next to you humming a tune and sucking on a sucker. It was a slow day, no meta activity, no robberies, not even a kitten in a tree, and since you had no previous training planned for Barry, you and Cisco were searching for a new way to train him. Caitlin had left and hour prior, stating she had an appointment. Dr. Wells had left 30 minutes after Caitlin, saying he wanted to go see some science lecture in Starling, and wouldn’t be back until tomorrow. So it was just Barry, Cisco, and you.

You were sort of a jack of all trades around the lab. Whether you had to be Cisco’s assistant or Barry’s trainer you came to the job to help. Once, Barry had asked you why you helped as much as you did and you had told him it was a way of being a hero, a way to help.

You looked over the top of the computer with your eyebrow raised, looking towards Barry. A smile started to appear on your face at the sight of Barry. He was sitting in a chair and had thrown his arms behind the arms, and was laying limp, starring toward the ceiling with his eyes closed. He was the face of boredom, in that moment. You snickered lightly, hitting Cisco lightly on the arm to get his attention and nod your head in the direction of Barry. He looks, and starts laughing.

“Ya bored, Barr?” You asked, giggling.

“Yes.” He opens his eyes and sits up, swiveling his chair in your direction and puts his hands on his knees. “Please tell me we can do something.” He pleads looking a both of you.

You and Cisco look at each other, then both shrug. “Well since we aren’t doing anything,” Cisco says as he stands and grabs his jacket off the back of the chair. “I’m going home to watch Netflix. Pokemon Indigo cannot watch itself.” He walks out and gives a little wave, while receiving byes from you and Barry.

You look towards Barry to see he’s already looking at you. You raise an eyebrow, “What are you doing?”.

“Concentrating.”

“On what, my face?”

“Yes, technically, but specifically the freckle of your temple.”

“Why?” You scrunch your eyebrows.

“I’m bored and am working on my concentration skills.”

“Your concentration skills?” You scoff and pause after he gives a small ‘mhm’. This gives you and idea. “You know what that’s not a bad idea. I will give you a shit ton of science work sheets, and you will complete them–WITHOUT SPEED–while I try to distract you.” He starts laughing lightly and then agrees.

You spend 2 hours printing out worksheets and let’s just say they were difficult. You sure as hell didn’t understand them, which meant Barry probably did. You were finally ready with the biggest stack of papers you had ever seen. You plop them in front of Barry as his eyes slightly widen at the size of the stack. You lean against the table and cross your arms. “You want to put some money on this?” You ask him with a smirk. A smirk on you was a rare thing only seen when not many were around. You were awkward and shy around a group. Unknown to you, Barry loved to see a smirk on your beautiful face. He thought it was, cute, pretty… Hot… In fact, he thought it was really fucking sexy.

“50 says you can’t distract me before I finish this entire stack.” You threw your hair over your shoulder and laughed.

“100.”

“Deal.” And with that single word Barry picked up a pencil and got to work.
____________

This was fucking hard. Barry was better at concentrating than you thought. You had stood on top of a table and screamed, you played music over the intercom, you even dropped and broke a beaker. Nothing. This man was determined. He was halfway through the stack already and you were running out of ideas.
