Fine did not expect her sister to be familiar with the place. The familiarity extends to her sitting beside her sister on their neighbor's couch, listening to the recollection of her sister's days with the community. "Just tell Matt my regards Mrs. Awrett." Beth said as Mrs. Awrett walks them to the door. "Of course! I'm very happy that you passed by and don't worry, your sister is very safe here. I'll introduce her to the community. My son is still alive because of you after all." She said. Beth tapped the old woman's shoulder and smiled at her. "I'm merely only an instrument. I'll leave my sister to you then. Thank you Mrs. Awrett." She said then the old woman smiled and held her hands. "This community is like a family so don't worry." She said then she smiled warmly at Fine who smiled back at her. Beth drove to the house Fine is buying. It was only a short distance from Mrs. Awrett's house, passing by only three houses to the place. Fine opened the dilapidated steel gate, making way for the car. Beth went out of the car and stared at the run-down house. She sighed, "Are you sure you're buying this? It'll be your first house." She said. Fine crossed her arms on her chest and stared at the house. "She sighed, "Yes sis. I'm a hundred percent sure. And don't tell mom or dad. I'm using what I've saved through scholarship." She said then her sister sighed. "Alright, but I'll help you out on this. I won't accept any no and refusal." She said sternly while entering the house. "I don't know if I'd consider you cool or a dictator." She said, following her sister who is laughing at what she said.

Fine toured her sister inside the house walking through every space until they found a folding stairs to the attic. "Oh so you have an attic." Beth said. Fine stared at the attic and then turned to her sister. She shook her head, "It's the first time that I saw this. It's actually my first time looking around the house at every detail and I like it more than before now." She said. "They said basements and attics are off limits. What do you think?" Beth said while grinning at her sister and her hand already at the string, ready to draw the stairs down. Fine raised her eyebrows, "Well, we're sisters after all" She said then she pulled the rope, bringing down the stairs. They both went up, lighting the attic with their phones. "It's actually beautiful here. You don't have to crouch down, it's spacious." Beth said. Fine went towards the small circular window where you can see the front of the house and the road from. "It just needs a repaint and a garden then it will be beautiful again." Fine said then her phone rang. "Oh, it's Gale." Beth who was looking over behind Fine read the name. She was startled at her sister then she rejected the call. "Why'd you do that?" Beth said and again, Fine's phone rang which she again rejected. "It's a little dusty here, and oh there's the light bulb. I wonder where the switch is." She said, deviating from her sister's growing suspicion. Beth turned the switch but it did not work. "I'll take Martin here. Leave this to us, the repainting and everything." "I'll pay this house on my own alright." Fine said, knowing what her sister would say next. Beth glared at her. "Fifty per cent. I'll pay half of it. Martin wanted to pay for the whole you know but I insisted only on the half. I know your pride sis." She said then Fine sighed. "Alright, alright. Suit yourselves. I can't do anything once you two made up your mind. I'll be sure to make up for it, maybe with my nephew or niece?" She said, teasing her sister but contrary to her expected reaction, Beth just smiled faintly then she went down the stairs.

Fine followed her wondering what happened. She sat beside her sister on the floor and leaned against the wall. "What's wrong Beth?" She asked. "Niece." She said blankly. Fine does not know if she has to be happy about it because she felt something wrong. "W-What niece? Are you-" "I lost her. I lost my child." Beth said, tears fell from her eyes then Fine embraced her. "I-I'm so sorry. Sis, just what happened? I'm so sorry. I didn't know." She said, frantic at the sight of her strong sister breaking down. "I was pressured at the firm, made me unjustly lose the case I was holding then the stress got through me. It cost a lot to the firm and it cost me my unborn child." She said. Fine could not speak but her tears also fell from her eyes in sympathy while embracing her sister. "I'm so sorry Beth." She said. Fine thought about how ignorant she was to her family's sufferings. It was her sister who suffered more while it was also her sister who has been protecting her. "I don't think I have to keep it from you. I'm sorry Fine. I shouldn't have hidden the truth from you." She said. "It's alright sis. You did what you thought was best and I'm very lucky that you are my sister. I'm sorry I was not there." Fine said. The strong sister has started to pour her heart out to her beloved little sister.
