The thought of whole body massage gives Fine a horrible image as she imagines the masseuse pulling and pressing on her arms and feet which would aggravate the pain more. She wanted to bail but she cannot because it is her usual bonding time with Havi which Havi looks forward to every time she spends time with her. They lied on their chest as the masseuse starts spreading oil on their backs. "This is life. I really wish you were my daughter." Havi said. "Although you were not my mother, you treated me as a daughter and I'm thankful for that." She said then Havi smiled at herself. "I'm the one who's thankful. It was you who was always there for my children. I really wanted you for Adam but I know he's a playboy and you don't really deserve that man." She said then Fine laughed. "Don't be too harsh on your son. He's not bad at all and I love him. It's just that things happened and I met someone I never knew I'd love this much." She said.
Havi took a deep breath remembered the past. "I know you love him. However, he's not yet serious about love before. I thought he wasn't. Turns out he also loves you. He just can't bring to face it because you're his best friend and he was afraid he'd ruin it." Havi said which caught Fine in surprise. Havi quickly caught at her, "Oh I'm sorry, you should hear this from Adam and not from me. Silly me." She said then Fine chuckled, "It's alright. It's not like I don't know you." She said then they both laughed. "Fine, your mother actually called me." Havi said which broke the light atmosphere. "Really." Fine said without any enthusiasm. "She told me everything. That you ran away, though I already know about it because Adam told me. She wants to see you Fine. She's worried." Havi said but Fine only felt emptiness towards her mother. "I'm slowly moving on from what happened and I don't want to see her yet." Fine said. She was keeping herself calm not only from the thought of her mother but also of the pain in her right hand and foot which are being stretched and put pressure on.
"I know your mom well Fine. Although she seems good at everything, she has a very weak will, very unlike you and your sister. From high school to college I was the one getting her thoughts straight. What she did is so wrong but given her weak will, I can see why she did that. And her man, Hiro Ohori, I think you should know. Although this should not come from me, I wanted to tell you because I don't see that you'll go back to your mother soon. Well, your mother met him when we were in college. They were each other's first love but Hiro came from a well-known family and they had to be separated. Your typical drama. That's why I can see why she did such a thing." Havi said but she did not get a response from Fine. "I'm not saying though that their past justifies why she did that. It was still wrong especially that she already has a family. However, I also just want you to understand your mother." Havi added but still, Fine won't respond.
Havi sighed, thinking that Fine is still hurt by what her mother did. She cannot blame the child because she knows Fine loved her mother the most and looks up to her since she was a child. "Ma'am? Ma'am?" Havi heard Fine's masseuse. She got up and looked at Fine. "What? What's wrong?" She asked the masseuse who looks worried. "Ma'am, she's unconscious." The panicking masseuse said. Havi's heart was already throbbing hard, "Are you sure she's just not sleeping? Fine, Fine wake up." They were trying to wake her up but she won't. Havi quickly put on her clothes as well as Fine's while waiting for the medical staff. She called Adam who rushed to their location and then they were taken to the nearest hospital at the resort.
They were all waiting at the hospital room for Fine to wake up, worried for her. "She should have told us." Adam said with his chest banging with worry. "She might have thought it would ruin the outing." Havi said, taking a deep breath. "I know but still-" Fine regains consciousness and saw the three sitting on the couch, looking worried. They rushed to her side, "Fine, how do you feel?" Havi asked. Fine looked around, "You're at the hospital. Why didn't you tell us you were in pain? You even went for a massage! The doctor said you fainted because of pain!" Adam exclaimed. Havi looked at him, "Don't yell at her Adam." She said. Fine looked at her wrapped foot and arm. "I'm sorry mom. I'm sorry Adam, Mae. I didn't want to ruin your vacation. This seldomly happens but I still ended up ruining it. I'm really sorry." Fine said, her throat felt blocked of guilt. "Sshh, it's alright love but Adam was right, you should have told us. I shouldn't have brought you at the spa. You got sprain on your right foot and a fracture on your right arm, the massage worsened it." Havi said. "I just wanted to spend time with you without such interference. I'm sorry." Fine said, apologetic.
"You should take a rest. We're going home tomorrow." Havi said. "I'm really sorry. I could go home by myself. You must stay here and enjoy your vacation. I'm really sorry for ruining it." Fine said. Before Havi could answer, Adam poured his anger. "In that condition? You're going home alone in that condition?! What the fuck Fine?!" Adam exclaimed which gained a glared from his mother. "Stop it Adam!" Havi yelled then Adam stormed out of the room. "Fine, forgive him, he's just really worried you know." Havi said then Fine nodded, already used to her best friend's temper. "Don't think that you ruined it. And also, don't apologize for it again. We can spend time together at the house you know." Havi said then Mae supported her. "Thanks mom and I'm really-" "There, I told you, don't apologize for it." She said then Fine nodded. "About what I told you about your mom? Did you hear-" "I heard until they were each other's first love and then I got dizzy." She said then Havi sighed, "Now I'm hoping you didn't hear." "It's alright. It's better that I heard it from you because the weight would double if I hear it from my mother instead." She said then Havi looked at her, pitiful that she is suffering from this at the age when you cannot easily forget and forgive.
The mother and daughter went back at the resort to get their things while Adam stayed at the hospital. "I'm sorry I got angry Fine. I'm just worried." He said. Fine shook her head, "I was wrong and I'm sorry for disappointing and worrying you." She said then Adam smiled her, "Just please don't do this again. We care for you." He said then Fine nodded and smiled faintly at him. The next day came and she was discharged out of the hospital then they drove back to the city. "Won't you just stay here? I want to take care of you and this also happened while you're with us so it's my responsibility." Havi insisted as they arrived at their house. Fine shook her head and looked, "I'm alright. I can take care of myself, I still got my left hand and foot working fine." She said but Havi was insistent and Fine knew she will not budge so she still ended up staying with Adam's family.
Fine made a call to Gale as soon as she settled her belongings in the room. She told him about the situation but it did not register well with him. It was a surprise for Fine that Gale sounded annoyed over the phone for the first time. She was excited to call him at first but now her chest was throbbing loudly because of disappointment. She felt no warmth throughout their conversation. Havi walked towards her, seeing her looking troubled. She sat beside her and put her arms of Fine's shoulder. "What is it? Had a fight with your boyfriend?" She asked then Fine nodded. "I kind of, don't want to see him right now. I'm a little disappointed." She said then Havi sighed. "Why? What happened?" Havi asked then Fine told her what they talked about earlier. "It's true that you didn't say anything to offend him but I think that he just does not want you to stay here. You know, after what Adam did." She said then Fine sighed. "Still, he knows that he's my best friend and we're still friends." She said. Havi patted her shoulder. "I think your boyfriend has been understanding enough but that doesn't mean that he will always understand." Havi said then Fine chuckled. "Do you know that Adam has started spurting out things that makes sense?" She said then Havi nodded her head, looking satisfied. "He's my son after all." She said then they both laughed. Still, diverting her attention to other things does not mask the dismay she is feeling towards Gale.
