Annabeth's POV
Thalia and I stood in front of the door. Loud music blared through and no doubt Aphrodite or Piper will get noise complaints. Though, Piper lives in a mansion, so I think her neighbors don't particularly mind.
"Is it too late to turn back?" Thalia said.
"You're the one who agreed to this-"
"I know, but now I regret it." I rolled my eyes and opened the door, revealing people dancing. Suddenly, I wanted to take Thalia and go back, but we scooted our way through. I couldn't see Piper or Jason anywhere. I would be surprised if Hazel, Frank or Nico were here. They don't strike me as party people. Leo and the Stolls are definitely here. They would never miss an opportunity to make some noise. And if Leo is here, then Calypso is also here.
"Thalia, do you wa-" I turned back to where I thought Thalia was, but I was met with a guy, a rather tipsy guy. He gave me a crooked smile.
"Hi! Annabeth, right?" He drowsily said. "I was in your music class. You know... Percy's not here... Maybe we could..." He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
I felt the sudden urge to vomit, but I settled for a glare and walked away to get a drink. As I was about to take a sip, I saw someone in the corner. Mark's eyes flickered towards me as I struggled past people to walk to him.
"Hmm... I always seem to find you in places where I'd least expect you to be," I said. He shrugged.
"Same goes for you," he said. "Didn't know you were a party person."
"Didn't know you were either." I smiled. "I'm getting this feeling that you're stalking me," I teased.
I saw his lip twitch, as if he found stalking someone funny. "If I were stalking you, which I'm not, I would know when you got here. I arrived here thirty minutes ago, so I wouldn't know, unless I was staring at the door the entire time."
"Fair," I replied. "You arrived here thirty minutes ago?" He nodded, a smile started to form on his lips. "The party didn't even start until 7:00."
"I was the first one here, besides Piper, Jason, Leo and the Stolls. That's what I get for trying to be punctual. I even calculated the time I would get here, and based on my calculations, I was wrong." We nodded and exchanged a chuckle.
I took a sip of the drink. Mark looked at me to my cup, that I seemed to chugged down. "I'm gonna go get some more drink. Do you want some?"
"No, I'm good," he said. I turned my back on him, ready to get some more. "Annabeth," he started to say, but I was already engulfed in the crowd.
-
I was feeling lightheaded. My vision seemed to blur, and I couldn't walk straight. The sharp features of people's faces dancing and playing around turned into a blur of colors and people in slow motion.
Mark snatched the cup from my hand and set it down on one of the tables. "How many of those did you drink?"
"1...2...No, 5," I giggled. I felt myself reach for the drink, but Mark had flicked it away, sending the cup and its contents on the floor. "What the hell!"
"I need to get you out of here," he said, but it sounded a bit gibberish in my head. "Or else one of those douchebags will get you."
I felt a tug on my wrist. When I didn't budge, I felt a hand on my waist trying to tug me along.
"Work with me for god's sake," Mark grunted. "You're a lot heavier than you look."
A girl that looked like Piper stepped in between us and the door. "What are you doing? Where are you taking her?"
"We... We are going to... To the palace of Zeus... Up in Olympus," I muttered and gave a loud giggle. My knees weakened, and Mark held his grip tighter.
"Is she drunk?" Piper said.
"Yes. I was going to take her to her house," I heard Mark reply.
"No. Take her to my room-" Piper stopped short. "Ugh. I knew inviting those Stolls would be a disaster. They're gonna wreck my house before this is even over. They most likely spiked the drink."
"Where's your room?"
"Up the stairs, to the right. Take her there. I just need to talk to the Stolls."
I was dragged up the stairs. Each step seemed to make me droop, dragging Mark down. His grunts echoed in my ear. Soon, I was lying down on a bed.
"Not a party person, huh?" Mark said. "Yet here you are drunk."
I rolled over, moaned, and tried to get my phone from my pants. When I did, I dialed a number I knew by heart. I waited for him to pick up. Looming above me, Mark gave me a worried look.
"You should rest," Mark said. He took my phone away and gently placed it on the nightstand. I was too tired to argue with him, so I let him take my shoes off. When he was done, he sat down on an empty space next to mine.
My eyes started to droop. I've forgotten what I was doing and where I was. I almost let sleep take over, when Mark's face suddenly morphed. His neat, dirty blond hair turned messy and jet-black. His hazel eyes that stared at mine turned into sea-green. That small curl at the end of his lips turned into that infamous lopsided smirk.
Percy, I thought. He pushed himself off the bed and headed towards the door.
"No," I mumbled. "Stay with me."
I caught a glimpse of him walking back towards me. I reached for his hand. When I took hold of his, I let the warmth of his hand press against my collarbone.
"Always," I heard him mutter.
"I miss you... Percy," I mumbled. I felt his hand freeze up and tug away from mine, leaving a cold spot on my collarbone. The last thing I saw was his figure walking out the door. After that, I let sleep take over.

For some reason, this chapter was difficult for me to write. I liked the way this chapter ended up, though.I've been reading this book called Ruin and Rising and it's been killing me! My favorite character is getting tortured, and I just want to go into the book and save him and punch the person who's torturing him senseless! Ughhh!
Thank you for reading this chapter. The support for this book is incredible. I hope all of you stay until very end... because it's soon ;)
I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS EXCEPT MARK AND DAVID.
