Chapter 9

(AZMARIE'S POV)

The entire day, Lilly and Maddy were behind my every step not letting anything go wrong.

Maddy turned out to be a fast learner and worked quickly. She memorized information that not even Lilly could remember on point.

We were working so much going up and down the city we forgot about lunch.

With three hands on deck, my normal tasks went by in a blur and we soon found ourselves at restaurant eating around 2 in the early afternoon.

"This was such a fun day. Thank you, I leaned so much today." Maddy exclaimed,

"Glad we taught you something. You did exceptionally well, Maddy." I said honestly,

Our food came and we ate and talked about stuff that Maddy would do if she got the job.

After paying, we walked out and there wasn't anything else to do.

"That's all for today, Maddy. You've been such a big help for us today." Lilly said,

"Thank you as well, ladies." Maddy said, nodding her head.

We said goodbye to her and after telling her we'll call her, we watched as she hailed a cab.

Heaving a sigh, our car pulled up and the drier stepped out. We got in and I closed my eyes feeling the days hardwork wash over me.

"Azmarie, you need to take easier. The reason we're getting another assistant is so that you don't work yourself too hard. You need your strength... for the both of you." Lilly lectured, showing concern.

"I know, I know. I can't help it though. Working like this is the only thing that distracts me from the longing feeling I have for Andruis. I have to fight because if I don't then I'll succumb to him and I can't let that happen. I hate feeling like this." I explained, rubbing my stomach.

Lilly sighed, shaking her head and dropped the topic.

The rest of the ride was silent until we pulled up to my condo.

"Have a good afternoon, Lilly." I said, getting out.

"You too. Take a nap and don't do any work." She called out,

Nodding my head, I stepped into the house and closed the door.

LILLY'S POV

Letting out a sigh, the car pulled off to drop me at my own condo.

I was deeply worried about Azmarie and the baby, but getting her to relax and take easy was difficult when dealing with a stubborn woman.

Pulling up to the house, I thanked the driver and dropped out with my stuff.

Diamond's car was parked outside so she wasn't home which meant I had the place to myself for the time being.

Shutting the door behind me, I dropped everything in the living room and walked into the bedroom and make myself more comfortable.

I stripped out of my clothes and walked into the bathroom to take a nice hot shower.

The water streamed down in all directions as I scrapped my body clean. We did a lot of walking so my body sweated quite a lot.

Some movement caught my eye and I tried to look past the shower wall.

"You're home early, baby." Diamond's voice drifted past the water and I smiled.

"Yeah, we had Maddy Bittman come in and with her help we finished quickly." I stated, shutting off the water.

Opening the shower door, I stepped out completely naked.

Diamond's eyes raked over my body hungrily and they turned dark when she noticed my hardened nïpples.

Fighting the urge, to jump my lover, I grabbed the white towel and dried myself.

Diamond silently made her way to me and before I knew it I was in her arms, her much taller frame covering my petite one.

"I've missed you this morning, you left do early that I couldn't even feast on you like I usually did. I was drained all day." She whined pouting,

Rolling my eyes at her, I pecked her lips and pulled away.

She followed me out the bathroom and I quickly got dressed.

She was wearing tight skinny jeans, making her legs look endlessly long and a loose white tank top with her bra showing on the sides.

"What did you do today?" I asked and she immediately groaned.

"Fucking Andruis. He was having another tantrum because he didn't have his beloved fiance. I swear these two need to get back together ASAP! He's been killing off too many people. I swear I want choke the stick out of his ass!" She growled,

My eyes widened because she unknowingly knew that the Lord Himself stood a few feet behind of her.

His arms were crossed with an eyebrow raised clearly hearing everything she said.

"Umm." I mumbled, gesturing for her to turn around.

She whipped around and let out a gasp as she stumbled.

Rushing to her side, I gripped her arm while staring at Andruis.

"So, that's how you feel Diamond?" He lowly asked,

Diamond sucked her teeth and wrapped an arm around me. She tried to play it off as if she didn't care, but we both knew that she was scared shitless of him.

"Hey Andruis. Appearing announced to people's home now, I see." She sassed,

Andruis rolled his eyes and stepped forward.

"I'm here to talk to Lilly." I stiffened immediately at that and looked up at Diamond for protection.

"What for?" Diamond asked, narrowing her eyes and tightened her grip on me.

Andruis rolled his eyes and sat on a chair that we had in the room.

"I'm not going to do anything, if that's what you're wondering. Just going to ask some simple questions then I'm out of here." He stated,

"Ok." Diamond said and lightly pushed me forward.

"What can I help you with, sir?" I asked not sure of hi I was supposed to to address him.

Sir? Master? Supreme dark lord of the sex realm?

"How is Azmarie doing?" He asked and I immediately relaxed.

"Working hard. Being stubborn and withdrawn. I've been trying to get her to relax, but she won't listen." I said,

A pained look crossed his face for the briefest second before he covered it.

"Is she at least eating well, going to the doctor and sleeping?" He asked,

I nodded my head and just stared at him.

It was clear that he missed her and cared a lot about her. He just had trouble showing it.

"Andruis, you already know what she wants from you. What's stopping you from doing it and just being with her? She misses you too." I asked,

He sighed and ran his hand through his hair roughly.

"You don't understand. It's much more difficult than that. I wish it was easy to do it, but it's not." He groaned,

"Things are expected of me and dangerous being that hate are still out there looking for the right moment to hurt me by hurting her. I can't let that happen. Protecting her and keeping her safe is the first thing on my list. Loving and showing compassion is something that isn't entirely important. She has to learn that." He said completely withdrawn of everything.

It was hopeless. They were both lost in this all and truly didn't understand.

I just hope it's not too late when they see that.
