(AZMARIE'S POV)

"Oh my gosh! She's here." Lilly squealed as she rushed out of her seat and out the door.

It was Thursday and Maddy was going to be tested first.

I was at my office finishing the last things for the wedding while Lilly rambled off about how excited she was when the secretary buzzed in that Maddy was here.

Taking a deep breath, I rubbed my growing stomach as I watched through the glass door as Lilly greeted Maddy in a professional manner.

As they turned to walk into my office, I noticed Lilly give me a thumbs up.

They stepped into the office and Lilly introduced Maddy.

"Ms. Brown, this is Maddy Bittman. Potentially your new second-hand assistant. Maddy this could be your future boss, Azmarie Brown." Lilly said, being completely professional.

Maddy was tall and slim with dirty blonde hair that was curly. Light blue eyes that were enhanced by her glasses and she wore a short pale pink dress.

"Hello Ms. Brown. It is such honor to finally meet you. I've been admiring your work for such a long time and it'd be a huge stepping stone to work for such an idol like yourself." Maddy said,

I smiled and got to shake her hand.

She let out a light gasp when she saw my stomach, but tried to hide it.

"It's fine. A lot of people were shocked when they found I was pregnant." I said, placing my hand on my stomach.

She grinned brightly.

"Its amazing. I hope you don't my intruding question, but h-how?" She asked curiously.

"I recently got engaged." I said, showing her the ring I still wore.

I couldn't bring myself to take it off despite everything.

Maddy's lit up and stared at the ring.

"Wow. This is news to me which is a shocker because I follow on all your social media sites and haven't heard of it." She stated,

"Yeah, I've been keeping it private." I said, taking a seat.

I gestured for her to the same and got done to business.

"Maddy, if you don't mind, can I ask you a few questions?" I asked,

She nodded her head and I pulled out the sheet of paper that Lilly gave me.

Speaking of Lilly, she stood behind Maddy with a big grin, unable to contain her excitement.

"Ok, why do you think you should be my assistant?" I read the first question.

"Well, I've recently graduated from college so I'm fresh into the working world. I have been admiring and following your work since 2006 and I feel like I practically know you personally so I wouldn't be confused and lost working for you." She said confidently,

Nodding my head at her good answer, I asked the next.

"Do you think you can handle the pressure and long hours and over the top tasks we have?" Maddy took a moment to answer the question before saying she could.

After asking five more questions, I ended the short interview and asked her if she had any questions.

"I have just one at the moment. With work being so long and hard, how do you manage your personal lives and not let get mixed with your work?" She asked the both of us.

Lilly moved to stand beside me and answered first.

"We just do. It's takes a lot of control to manage both and not let them intervine. I've had times where my job consumed all my time to where I spent no time at with my partner. We've fought about it, but it takes a lot of consideration. But if it wasn't for this job, I wouldn't have found the love of my life." Lilly said,

"Do you have someone in your life at the moment?" I asked,

She nodded her head and let her head drop.

"Y-Yeah. My... son. He's just barely over two and recently learned to say mommy. He stays with whoever I can find to hold him, but it's difficult." She said,

It was a complete shocker to find that this young aspiring girl had a child. She seemed so... young and innocent.

"I hope me having a child could hinder my chances of landing this job! I can handle the workload, trust me." She said quickly,

"Of course not, Maddy. We judge by how you work and handle yourself, not your personal life and anything you have going on there." I assured her,

She let out a breath of relief and nodded her head.

Knowing that she had a child, brought my critical judging down a lot. Here she was working hard and finished college with a child on her own. That took a lot of strength and work to do that. It was crazy that she chose this path of work that needed lots of attention and time, not that I was giving it that a while ago, but I was back and working again at it.

In fact, I knew I somehow wanted Maddy to get it, but first I'd have to see how she worked.

"You start right now. If you have any questions, Lilly will answer them and show you around. I wish you the best of luck and don't forget you have and opponent fighting to get the position so I want you try your best, ok?" I said firmly,

Her eyes were wide as she quickly nodded her head.

Lilly glanced at me with a strange look before she guided her out to give her a quick tour of the office so she knew her way around.

Letting out a breath, I ran my hand through my feeling stressed and conflicted with my emotions.

The affect of not being near Andruis was drastically affecting me in terrible ways.

"Chocolate. I need some freaking chocolate." I muttered and got up to get some.

I remembered there was some in the break room so I quickly went to searched the drawers for some.

Finally, after searching, there was and bag of oreos.

Munching on them, I stepped out to find both Lilly Maddy already at work.

Smiling proudly, I walked into my office and got back to work.

Everything was going well.... I don't need Andruis in my life. I don't.
