Chapter 18

AZMARIE'S POV

Finally, after many days of having Andruis sticking to me like glue, he had to go deal with some business of his own.

I relaxed with a big smile on my face as I stood by the window of my office. The sun shined through and bathed my entire body in its warmth.

"You seem to be in a good mood." I turned at the sound of Madison as she smiled at me.

"Yes and I'm sure you are too." I stated, taking a seat.

"Oh, do you mean because a certain someone isn't here today? Then the answer is yes." She replied and walked over.

"Alright, so I spoke with Ms. Charli and she likes the idea and says she can get the wedding the perfect location from the description we gave her." She stated as she shuffled through some folders.

"Oh! Actually she told me to ask you to call her." She added,

"Ok, I'll do that now since we're on the topic." I said and looked for my cellphone.

Since Lilly's wedding was really important, I decided to call up an old friend of mine from college. Charli Rose is an event manager who deals with numerous events that included wedding planning. She was a really good friend although she could be stubborn like a mule when she wanted to. We were currently fighting on what color the wedding theme should be.

"Azmarie, hi. Its about time you picked up the phone and called me." She immediately said and I rolled my eyes.

"Its always good to hear from you, Charli." I sighed, shaking my head.

"So, I actually just contracted two spectacular chefs for the wedding." She stated,

"Boasting about your family as well. I'm sure Mateo and Grace would be embarrassed from how high you hold them with their culinary talents." I replied and she scoffed.

"I hardly ever boast about my older brother and sister-in-law. I just happen to be in a very good mood." She shot back,

"Oh really and may you say what has you in such a good mood?" I curisouly asked,

"Umm... well, I may have gone out with a guy. Lawyer to be precise and we're hitting off great." She said in a lower tone and I just knew she was blushing.

I laughed at her and she complained, calling me a bad friend for laughing.

We spoke for a while longer and dicussed numerous things before hanging up. I clutched my stomach from how much she had me laughing. My phone rang again and I thought it was her again.

"Sheesh, back for more I see." I joked,

"Well, I'm not sure about that." I got serious as I recognized Matt's voice and I cleared my throat.

"S-Sorry, I thought you were someone else." I stated,

"Its ok. It actually been a while since we've seen each other so I was wondering if you'd like to go get some ice cream." He said,

I bit my lip, unsure of how to answer.

"Ok, I would like that. How about I meet you there." I said and he agreed.

We decided on a local ice cream shop and I grabbed my purse. I told Madison I was stepping out and I waited for Albert.

The ride was quick and I told him that he could wait since I was sure the meeting with Matt wouldn't take too long. I hadn't seen him quite some time and the way I felt about him a couple of months ago weren't the same.

It turns out that all I needed was to be away from male incubi and I'd feel much better. I was simply here to have a small chat with him and explain him that Andruis was back into my life. Sounded easy enough.

I took in a deep breath as I stepped into the store and quickly got in line. As I waited, I was suddenly spooked and I snapped around scared.

"Its me, relax." Matt said as he laughed.

I playfully glared at him and shook my head before I couldn't help but laugh as well.

"Hello to you too, Matt. It has certainly been a while." I stated and he agreed.

Despite that, he didn't look as if he changed at all. He looked exactly the same.

We ordered our ice cream and sat by the window of the shop.

"So, what have you been so busy with that we couldn't meet one another in so long?" He asked as we licked our ice creams.

"A lot of stuff. Preparing for the baby, dealing with work, mood swings, and so much more stuff that just bring a headache at the thought." I sighed, shaking my head.

"Wow, you're quite the busy woman. Your stomach is all big too." He stated, gesturing to my bulging stomach.

"Yeah, but I couldn't be happier." I stated as I rubbed my stomach.

"I was actually thinking that maybe we could go out some time, Azmarie. I haven't seen you in so long." He suddenly said,

"What do you mean by that?" I asked,

"I like you, Azmarie. I don't care that you're pregnant. I just want you." He stated,

I fell silent unsure of how to respond.

"Matt, that's very uplifting to hear from you, but I'm actually back with Andruis. We're trying to make it work between each other." I slowly said,

He cleared his throat and leaned back before laughing.

"Umm, wow well this is so embarrassing, but I understand. You are his mate after all." He said, shaking his head.

I relaxed a bit and we continued to talk. When we were done, we both got up and he even hugged me before parted ways. Feeling better now that things were still good with Matt, I got into the car and told Albert to drive me home. I had left some important documents in my home office and needed them.

UNKNOWN POV

"Fuck! This was not part of the plan." I angrily stated as I slammed my hand against the wall.

I stormed around the room and kicked the unconscious body on the floor. The two other people rolled their eyes and the woman scoffed.

"Would you relax. That doesn't matter because the plan is still a go." The man gruffly stated and I rolled my eyes.

Leaning against the wall, I crossed my arms as we silently stared at each other.

"This is ridiculous. He'll kill us all." I muttered,

"I know that. I hate this, I hate you." The woman growled at the man and he grinned at her.

"Don't worry, baby. You're evil too just pretending to be good. Obviously you've confused reality and fiction with one another. Set your mind to our goal." The man snapped and the woman bowed her head.

"Look, so what's the move? It's been six months already." I impatiently stated,

The man was silent as he evilly grinned at the both of us.

"That's easy... you break me out." He said and we just stared at him with fucked-up expressions.

"You're insane." The woman and I both stated.

"I'm glad you know... That baby will bring power like never before." He said and we lost him to his thoughts.

"Do you love her?" The woman softly asked,

I scoffed and shook my head.

"Love isn't the goal here, its revenge." I snapped and disappeared from the room.
