CHAPTER 5

Racheal insists for a romantic movie, even though I hate them I agreed only for her sake. I felt uncomfortable as we got corner seat, apparently, that was the only seats available. I asked her to be comfortable while I get popcorn for her. Before the movie started Racheal gave me summary of the movie, I didn't hear anything of what she said, I keep admiring her. She is glad that we came for this movie, she was jealous of her girlfriends who had seen the movie. As the lights of the hall dimmed I feel my heartbeat increase, I realized then that I have never gone to a movie with a girl before, not even my mother.

The movie starts and as excepted I am not liking the movie but I am enjoying Racheal's company and I hope she too is enjoying my company. In the second half of the movie I got bored but I dare not look at my watch, Elham has strictly warned me not to, the girl should never think that I am getting bored in her company.

An emotional scene comes up in the movie. I felt my heart flutter as I feel her wrap her arms around mine and rests her head on my shoulder. I heard her sniffle. Fifteen minutes, all of sudden a fierce kissing scene followed by a passionate lovemaking scene started. I felt embarrassed, I squeeze my eyes tight and then look down. Why don't they give disclaimer before starting such scenes? I wonder why I am feeling embarrassed, maybe because Racheal is beside me.

After the movie, she takes me to a nearby restaurant where we had noodles, she then takes me to a park.

'The movie was great, right?' she says and I nod, I have forgotten all about the movie and honestly I wasn't paying attention to the movie anyway. She shifts closer to me, I felt goosebumps erupt on my skin as her arm brushed against mine. She turns her head towards me and smiles

'Thanks for today and for that night' she says, I noticed her expression change to a sad one and I didn't like it. I placed my hand over hers and blink at her slowly.

'If you aren't comfortable then...'

'No, Juwaid...let me speak. (I nod) Adams had asked me for the party, since he is my boss I couldn't refuse but at the party he was too drunk and was forcing himself on me...' she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. I see pain in her face and it hurts me.

I gently squeeze her hand comforting her, she rests her head on my shoulder. I felt like she had something more to say but maybe I am imagining.

After a while we left the park and I dropped Racheal safely to her home. She kissed my cheeks again and I fly on cloud nine. I texted Elham

One week passed, I and Racheal came closer, we were slowly moving ahead of friendship. But in this one week I noticed Elham's behavior change. Nowadays, like me even Elham is glowing and smiling way more than usual. Even with the changed behavior, Elham didn't stop asking me to kiss Racheal. Even though I kept nodding but in reality, I wanted to take things slow.

One night, I and Racheal are preparing report in the night. It is around 11pm and both of us are tried.

'I quit...I am going' Racheal says, she stands up kicking back her chair. Before she could leave I held her hand. She looks at me

'I will get coffee; you will feel recharged' I say. Racheal looks at me for few seconds before nodding.

The office is empty now, with only me Racheal and one or two few more employees. I hurried and quickly got coffee for Racheal, I didn't want her to wait.

'Here!' I say placing a mug in front of her, she sighs in relieve and looks at me gratefully. I sit on my seat. She takes a sip and smiles, I watch her with a smile on my face, she opens her eyes and I quickly look away.
