Chapter 17 ~ Can't Stop Loving You

Genesis P.O.V

"Awe Cole....you didn't have to do this!!" Sarah said unwrapping a necklace that Cole had gotten her for Christmas. It was a silver heart and had something engraved on it. Sarah however didn't want us to see what it said. Cole put it on her and she turned red. 

"Thank you so much Cole!" Sarah said kissing him on the cheek. The guys all started to make dog sounds and Cole turned red

"Shut it!!" Cole shouted causing everyone to laugh. I looked down feeling not really feeling good. I know it's Christmas and I should be all happy and what not but..I can't seem to get in the spirit of Christmas after what happened between Dana and I. And although he left a couple days after our last 'talk' to go spend the holidays with his family back in his home town..I can't seem to stop thinking he'll show up any minute and just tell me it was all a misunderstanding and we'll make up and go back to how things used to be. The sad thing is...things between us will never go back to the way it used to be...

"Gen! This one was from Dana" Will Jay said handing me a wrapped gift. I stared down at the gift feeling numb. It's like I couldn't move.

"Aren't you gonna open it?" Gabe asked with a confused expression. I cleared my throat nervously. I slowly began to rip the wrapping paper off

"I bet it's more beanies!" Dalton said with a chuckle. Considering everyone knew about my beanie obsession..it probably was a beanie..I finally ripped all of the wrapping paper off to see a box. I furrowed my eyebrows opening it to find a small white box inside. I took the white box out throwing the bigger one aside. 

"What is it babe?" Gabe asked using the nickname he gave me. 

"I...don't know" I said biting my lip. 

"Open it!!" Cole said sounding like a four year old. I giggled slightly finally opening the box. I opened the box and my heart stopped. My vision blurred as I felt the tears coming. 

"Well?" Will asked. I didn't answer...or at least I couldn't...I was frozen...I literally just couldn't move or even comprehend what I was feeling at the moment. In the box there was a gold locket in the shape of a heart. It was positively beautiful. I took the locket out of the box with shaky hands and held it up

"Oh Gen that's beautiful!" Sarah said in awe

"I went with him when he got it for you!!" Cole said matter - of - factly. I opened the locket and felt my eyes get heavier with tears. Inside the locket was a picture of Dana and I the first day we met each other on one side, I looked over at the other side, it was blank. (the locket is on the side --->>)

"He said that, that picture represented one of his best memories...he left the other side blank because he said that, That's for another important memory that he wants you to keep close at all times" Cole said smiling. 

I felt the tears get even heavier and before I knew it I was sobbing. I gripped onto the locket tighter as I felt more and more tears spill out

"Gen what's wrong!" Cole said as everyone ran over to me. The guys and Sarah were all huddled around me

"I-I'm fine" I choked out. I felt two arms wrap around my torso. I looked up to see Dalton smiling slightly. He pulled me into a hug rubbing my back soothingly. I still gripped onto the locket not wanting to let it go.

"You're not fine love" Gabe said shaking his head. He knelt down directly in front of me rubbing my legs slightly. "Tell us what's going on" He said softly. 

"I-I......" I couldn't even breath, let alone talk. I looked at Sarah for help. Hoping she would tell them instead of me saying it.  She gave me a sympathetic look and rubbed my arm soothingly.  

"Are you sure" She mumbled. I nodded sobbing slightly. She cleared her throat standing up. The guys turned to look at her

"Whats up Sarah?" Cole asked confused. Sarah took a deep breath

"GEN IS IN LOVE WITH DANA!" She shouted making everyone turn and look at me with wide eyes. We sat frozen for what seemed like forever when Dalton jumped up

"I KNEW IT!!" He shouted pointing at me. I sighed looking down. 

"Sit down Dalton you're embarrassing her!" Will Jay said smacking Dalton in the stomach causing Dalton to hunch over in pain.

"But wait...whats so wrong with her being in love with Dana?" Gabe said looking around to everyone. Cole nudged him

"Don't you remember that one meeting we had...ya know the really intense meeting we had with our manager" Cole said through gritted teeth

"Wait what meeting?" I asked confused. 

"Oh you're talking about the one that the manager didn't want Genesis to know about!" Dalton said with a nod. 

"What?!" I shouted standing up quickly. Will Jay lifted his hand smacking Dalton up side the head 

"Ow!!" He shouted rubbing his head. "She was bound to find out about it anyways!" Dalton said pointing to me. My eyes widened

"What the hell are you all talking about!!" I shouted "Someone better start explaining!" I said crossing my arms over my chest

"When you guys were put together as a band, your band manager sat the guys all down at a private meeting that basically explained that none of the guys was allowed to be in any type of inappropriate relationship with you" Sarah said with a frown

"Wait you knew about this too!" I shouted. She nodded looking down

"They said that none of us was allowed to date you, because it could lead to complications with the fans and between all of us and might result in the band splitting up" Will said softy. I sat down feeling uneasy. 

"What happened between you two...before he left?" Cole asked all of a sudden. I looked up and cole sighed "He was really upset when I dropped his family off at the airport..I've never seen him like that before" Cole added. I sighed feeling more tears slide down my cheeks.

"We uhh...." I started sobbing slightly "We got into a really bad fight" I choked out.

"but you guys never fight?..What happened?" Gabe asked. I took a deep breath trying to calm down, but every time I tried to tell them what happened I would turn into a sobbing mess. Luckily Sarah stepped in and explained to them everything that happened that day at Dana's house. Hearing it out loud , from someone else for the first time made me feel twice as worse than actually being in the situation. It made me realize that maybe things between Dana and I are really over. And as much as I hated to say it...maybe this was how things were meant to be. All I know is..I wanted, no needed Dana to be here. I needed him to hold me and tell me everything was going to be okay. 

"I'm so sorry Gen" Gabe said wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a hug. I sighed pulling away slightly. 

"I'm uh...I'm gonna head up to my room...you guys can chill down here.." I said standing up and making my way towards the stairs

"you sure you don't want us to leave or go up there with you?" Will asked with a frown. I shook my head

"No...you guys can stay..enjoy the big TV and surround sound....I'll be fine by myself" I mumbled looking down

"You gonna come back down any time soon?" Sarah asked with a smile. I nodded

"Y-yeah..I just...need to be alone...I'll be down in a little" I said with a fake smile. I made my way up to my room closing the door behind me. I collapsed onto my bed sobbing. I was still gripping onto the locket Dana got me. I looked down at the small object in my hand opening it gently. I felt the tears beging to sting my eyes as I stared at the picture of Dana and I on the day we met. Dana had picked me up and thrown me over his shoulder to prove that he wasn't as weak as he seemed. Dana was smiling wide and I had my face covered because I was laughing so hard. I felt my eyes stinging as fresh new tears began to stream down my face

"I can't stop loving you" I mumbled tightly gripping onto the locket
