A Painful Melody

Chapter 11- Incident

3rd person POV

Akashi grabbed the ball and did a crossover causing Akagawa to fall on her behind. Akashi took that chance to shoot, but Akagawa kicked the ball out of his hands.

"This is basketball, not soccer." Akashi jumped up, catching the ball before it landed in her net. He stunningly landed softly and shot the ball without hesitation.

Akagawa smirked, "Well, basketball uses your hands, mind and feet."

"You use your feet for complicated footwork not for kicking the ball, peasant." Akashi felt the basketball escape his grasp.

Akagawa did an overlay and sped past Akashi. Akashi saw a flash of red, but his emperor eye flashed and Akagawa was forced on the floor. The female merely clutched the basketball to her stomach and rolled.

The force of her roll not only allowed her to travel a farther distance, but also made her stand up. Akagawa shot the ball and Akashi intercepted easily.

Akagawa tched and grabbed the ball once again. She leaned back and shot, her glowing eyes becoming obvious. Akashi's left eye was glowing as well.

Shuichi was on the side, watching the match. Even though he had one of the best eyes, they couldn't keep up to Akashi and Akagawa's match. The falling, hitting, shooting, and running was too fast for him to process.

All the silver hair could see was red blurs from their hair, and the silver, golden red of Akagawa's glowing eyes. He only could see Akashi's left glowing eye every so often.

Akashi shot a basket, but Akagawa grabbed it and threw it towards her net without waiting to settle. Akashi's eye flashed and the basketball was now in his hands. The red headed female was in front of him, leaving an imprint of her glowing orbs in his eyes and then she disappeared.

She was behind Akashi with the ball in her hands, and shot the ball without looking at the net. Akashi's eyes flashed and in the next moment, Akashi had the basketball and shot towards his net.

His eyes flashed again, making the ball in Akagawa's hands disappear. Akagawa snatched the ball, but Akashi forced her on her knees and grabbed the ball. He then jumped up, let the ball hit the board and the ball fell gracefully into the net.

Akagawa's eyes glowed brightly, and she shot from her position. At full court, the ball landed inside her net. Akashi wasn't able to react because during that time, the ball was still falling through the net. He hated how Akagawa had the reaction time faster than the basketball could fall completely and hit the floor.

"This is my win." Akashi dribbled the ball.

Akashi's eye flashed, forcing Akagawa to the ground. Though to his surprise, her knees locked but she didn't fall, "Sorry, but I can't afford a loss." Akagawa's eyes flashed and her dunk shook the net.

Akashi's ears rung from the sound of the cracking, the board was going to break! Akagawa lost her balance and as she fell, the girl fell softly despite falling onto the hard floor.

When she looked to see what happened, and to her surprise, the person that cushioned her fall wasn't Shuichi.

She was sitting on Akashi's stomach.

Though the loud creaking made her snap out of those thoughts. The whole net was going to fall. The metal bent, and is now going to snap. The wooden board was extremely heavy, so if that were to fall on them it would only be trouble.

Though Akagawa couldn't move. If she moved the Akashi would be squished by the board. Akagawa blinked, her eyes turning pitch black again. Akashi's emperor eye faded as well.

The red haired female placed her hands down beside Akashi's head and her legs were placed between his legs. Akashi could only watch as she changed positions and saw the board fall from the corner of his eye.

It all happened too fast.

Akagawa gritted her teeth as the board fell onto her back, and the rim stabbed her lower back. Shuichi's eyes widened, his eyes wasn't able to catch up with anything.

He saw Akagawa dunk, but then within a single blink Akagawa was on the floor shielding Akashi from the board. Running towards the two red heads, he pushed the board up.

Akagawa's arms gave out once Shuichi lifted the net easily. She sighed, ' What am I doing? I'm a girl, I'm weak... ' Even Akagawa's thoughts faded as she collapsed on top of Akashi.
