Blackout's POV

Even though Forestra and I had been put into a simulation by Chaot, I felt at peace.

Oh my... am I dead?

Slowly, I got up.

At first, all I saw, sans Forestra, was a pitch black expanse.

I walked forward, wondering what this simulation had in store for the two of us.

Then, I felt water collect around my feet.

Shocked by the sensation, I looked down.

Nothing was there.

I couldn't even see my feet, as though they blended in with the ground.

Still, I felt water all over my feet.

Then, just around our feet, everything started to light up.

I realized that we were barefoot.

The light around us grew, revealing gorgeous stone walls teeming with vines.

Then, a fountain was revealed, which had water pouring out of its center, which was a tall cobblestone pipe.

This place looked very much like a spring.

We walked forward slowly... it was all so beautiful...

I... I loved it.

What the two of us needed to do in this simulation was extremely unclear to me.

Why would Chaot, out of all people, send us to this amazing place?

"What do we do?" I heard Forestra call out.

The light suddenly revealed two large outstretched hands in the wall.

I approached it.

Usually, simulations posed danger, but this one did not.

"Come here, Blackout and Forestra..." a deep and soft voice called out.

I was shocked.

Who was this?

How did they know our names?

"W-where?" I asked, confused.

"Where do we go?"

The stone hands began glowing in a hazy white light.

"Stand in either hand... and partake of the truth..."

The truth?

This couldn't be Chaot.

Even though it was deep, I knew that this wasn't Chaot at all.

I approached the hands, my own hands trembling.

I felt so soothed by this atmosphere.

What did Chaot have in store for me?

Slowly, I climbed up onto the large finger of the statue, crawling into the palm and standing up.

When I did, I could not believe what I was seeing.

Everything was completely black.

The only things I could see were the hands and Forestra.

I was bewildered.

Then, I saw a bright star emerge from the darkness.

It started milky and wavy, its light hitting my eyes.
