It had been well over a week and the plan that the marauders, excluding Remus, had come up with had not happened yet. Sirius had talking it over with Felicity (he had also engaged her in a good snogging that he was still thinking about), and she had mentioned to Antoinette and Olivia that they were to try to get Abrienne alone with Remus as soon as possible. Their plan had almost worked when Remus and Abrienne met together in the library to finish homework, but there was little conversation and Sirius deemed that the library was not a good place for them to talk about their feelings together.
Sirius had then decided that the astronomy tower was the best possible spot for them to be alone together, and so they chose to hatch their plan that night after dinner. Sirius had planned to explain to Remus that he left his potions homework up there after snogging someone (that someone was Felicity, and Sirius surprisingly wasn't expecting them to (his lips were still tingling)), and he was planning to convince Remus to retrieve it for him.
Felicity and Antoinette convinced Abrienne that there was a meteor shower that night and that they should all watch it together. It had worked, however, Abrienne had suggested that they all go up together and Felicity had to make up a quick excuse that her and Antoinette had to do something before meeting up with her.
So when dinner came around, Sirius asked Remus to fetch his book and Felicity and Antoinette sent Abrienne to wait for them at the Astronomy tower. Remus grudgingly padded up to the tower and began looking for the Potions book (that Sirius hadn't even left up there); Abrienne followed a few minutes after him, unaware that they would meet up.
Remus's head turned as he heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Abrienne's brunette head popped up as she padded up the steps, not noticing Remus standing on the other side of the room. He watched her as she scanned the room before her coffee-coloured eyes landed on him and her face stretched into a smile.
"Hey Moony," she smiled, walking towards him. "what're you doing up here this late?"
"I suppose I could ask you the same," he replied, "anyway, Padfoot asked me to snatch his Potions book for him, but I can't seem to find him." he looked around, hoping to spot the book so he could return it to Sirius and go back to his dorm. The full moon was coming up and he was becoming increasingly exhausted and weak.
"The girls wanted me to come up here to watch the meteor shower with them." Abrienne said.
"There's no meteor shower tonight, Luna," Remus furrowed his eyebrows, chuckling at the small girl. "there isn't a meteor shower in a long time."
"But the girls said there was?" She repeated, "Why would they say there was?"
"I don't know," Remus replied, rubbing her shoulder. "but it's getting cold up here, we should probably head back to our common rooms." He gently grasped Abrienne's hand and began pulling her to the stairs. She began to follow him, but when she spotted how bright the moon looked, she tugged on his hands and led him to the railing. "Luna, what are you doing?" Remus groaned, resting his head on her shoulder.
"The moon is out tonight." Abrienne replied, smiling up at the sky, eyes wide in wonder.
"Luna, I don't want to look at the moon." The tall boy groaned, burying his face deeper into her shoulder. She laughed and gently pulled his head out of her shoulder, pointing his face towards the sky. He closed his eyes and scrunched his nose, making a face that Abrienne couldn't help but laugh at.
"Open your eyes, Moony!" She persisted. He finally obliged and opened one eye, looking up at the moon with a scowl on his face. "See the moon?" She asked, he nodded. He didn't find anything special about it; he detested it. The moon was nothing more than an object in the sky that transformed him into a monster.
