"I love the moon."
"I hate it." Remus said.
"It's so beautiful."
"It's what makes me what I am. It's nothing other than an ugly white orb." Remus grimaced.
"It reminds me of your soul. Beautiful and pure and, like the moon, I'm always looking forw...

Hogwarts, February.
Remus Lupin and Abrienne Potter haven't talked much since the Christmas holidays. Since what happened.
Felicity and Antoinette were completely aware of everything that had happened, but they didn't dare bring up his name in conversation. They were afraid of Abrienne's reaction to hearing his name.
Abrienne didn't do much besides study and stay in her common room. She came out for meals and her classes, but she only chatted with her two best friends and her newfound friend, Xenophilius Lovegood.
After what happened, Abrienne isolated herself from just about everyone. That's when Xenophilius came in. He knew what it was like to not talk to anyone, he knew what it was like to be an outcast like her. Abrienne spent time with him in the library and in the Great Hall, but they didn't share any classes together and Abrienne wasn't one to wander the halls anymore, so that was all.
Remus Lupin regretted everything he had ever done with Abrienne Potter. He regretted leading her on, and making her feel loved before tearing her apart. He didn't know if he loved her. Maybe deep down he did, but not at the moment.
You see, Remus had met a girl. A beautiful girl that made a lot of other beautiful girls look like regular girls. This girl was in Ravenclaw and was the second smartest girl he had ever met. She enjoyed books and puzzles, and she loved chocolate, just like him.
This girl had been after Remus for years, but only a month ago had he noticed her. He wasn't much for romance, and it was very difficult for him to be drawn to a girl, but she was an exception. Her name was Rowan Matthews. She was a Muggle born, but was extremely educated in Magic. Remus had become drawn to her, and had asked her to be his girlfriend halfway through January.
Abrienne found out after the full moon when she had visited him in the hospital wing, only to witness him snogging a mysterious girl that he later learned was his girlfriend. She was heartbroken, and refused to talk to any of the Marauders since then.
James and Sirius tried desperately to get her to make peace with them, but she was too far gone to even consider their pleads. She named a poisonous plant after Remus one day in Herbology.
"Abrienne, hun, slow down, you're going to choke." Felicity said, breaking her out of her thoughts. She was practically shoving a chunk of ham down her throat, trying to eat quickly so she could go back to the library to study for an upcoming Potions test. She slowed down her chewing and took a gulp of her pumpkin juice.
"How are you feeling, hun?" Antoinette asked, looking wearily at the small girl.
"Fine," Abrienne replied, not looking at them. "I'm feeling just fine."
"Are you sure? We know you're feeling down, and if there's anything Annie and I can do-" Felicity was cut off.
"I'm fine, alright? Don't worry about me. I'm not a ticking time bomb." Abrienne rolled her eyes and shoved a spoonful of mashed potatoes in her mouth.
