It's late at night, a time where most of the neighborhood streets would be filled with just the sounds of crickets and the occasional groans by cars.
However, it wasn't the case for an area where it was filled with nocturnal pubs and bars.
It was a place that most suited people who were looking for a relaxing and satisfying environment, where live bands existed, and no superfluous and drunken fights arisen.
"The live band is starting in five minutes' time," Larry, the Manager of Cerulean Pub, informed Holden, who was the singer for tonight.
Holden was about to acknowledge that piece of information, but was immediately cut off as Larry continued, "However, I have a bad news."
"What?"
"Your partner isn't going to make it tonight."
Holden's eyes widened. Tonight was supposed to be a full two hours of duet songs, and he had prepared himself with only those songs throughout the week.
"Are you kidding me? Then what now? Am I supposed to fake two voices tonight? How am I going to survive the parts where the voices overlap?"
Larry scowled, not appreciating Holden's outburst. But, it wasn't like he could blame him, since it was such a last minute notice. "I'll try to solve it. In the meantime, get ready."
Holden sighed, rubbing his hands down his face as the Manager walked off to another side of the pub.
Compared to the rest of the pubs down the street, Cerulean Pub was considered to be the largest, and most profitable one, which was why Holden was extremely grateful when he was selected to be a singer here.
Now, he wasn't sure if this pub was as good as it was said to be.
